I'm sure there's a story about how he came to be used in the first place, but I don't know it.

Also, somebody said that "mageres" = "maji res" = "serious response," or something along those lines. No idea what it has to do with the man himself.

I know mageres is to lean in some latin language, which apparently is where the name is from. But the Japs don't have a wiki for their memes which I find is odd because they are pretty autistic over there.
