So, a question, I started learning hiragana, and well...
http://www.umich.edu/~umichjlp/Hiraganapro/
http://www.realkana.com/hiragana/
You see, the first link contains a lot less characters. Why is that? Do I need to learn all of them, from the second link, or I can go with the first?
By the way, my plan is to learn both kanas and then go for grammar and words and shit, with small injections of kanji in between. Am I doing it right?

Some of them aren't in common use any more.

You need every one from the second link.

Also, learn kanji from the beginning. Don't put if off.

Only ヲ and another one.

Not being mean but check the archive.

Looks to me like the first table in the first link has all the same hiragana as the one in the second link. Either way yes you need to learn all of the ones in the second link. The "extra" characters I'm guessing you're referring to are the ones with tenten or maru, which you most definitely need to learn.

Also ゑ ヱ ゐ ヰ

ヲ isn't hiragana.
But yeah,ゑ and ゐ aren't used any more (BUT YOU SHOULD STILL LEARN THEM).
If you have problems remembering 2 characters, Japanese is not for you.
