Post your IP if you are hosting followed by world location (with continent and area is ok, I.E Western europe) and your own "tier" if you feel like to.

About the game:
(shamelessly copied from the wiki)
Touhou Hisoutensoku is the third fighting game in the Touhou Project and like its predecessors, Immaterial and Missing Power and Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, Touhou Hisoutensoku is a collaboration between ZUN and Twilight Frontier. Due to that collaboration, its art was drawn by Alphes and the music was composed by U2 Akiyama, both from Twilight Frontier.

Download link:

Hisoutensoku + 1.10 patch + english patch:
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6424899/Touhou_Hisoutensoku_12.3___1.10___English_Patch

For playing online it's recommended to have the latest version, 1.10a which you can find the patches for here:

http://hisouten.koumakan.jp/

SWR + English patch:
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6512402/Touhou_10.5_Scarlet_Weather_Rhapsody___ENG

Optionally there is also a Voice mod found here:
http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Voice_Mod_for_SWR_and_Hisoutensoku

Before playing online please close any process that uses bandwith to avoid lag, also try to play with people close to your area if possible.

Also vote on this if you want.

Your blockstrings appear to always be the same but just a little mixup makes it very hard to escape your string. You also don't rely on staggers making it hard for me to poke so I have to escape the old way.
Your 5C makes it really hard for me to pressure you and/or punish you since I always use j5A/j6A to catch you. But Sakuya's melee startup is slow as fuck so I needed to spam some more knives.
I don't understand how Cirno is D tier.

I know I should add more variety to my blockstrings, you got out pretty easily after my j.2As since I usually follow up with j.5C. Got you once by using sword instead, though. That, and the 5 card ice cube to punish your BE.

One thing that makes playing against Sakuya tough for me is how most of my bullets are so fragile that they never get past your knives, often forcing me to go for something like 66C instead of bullets.

Mieling is low tier.

Different with iamp is that rather than being abysmally shitty, she's just below average now, with some good moves. She's also kind of like Tager was in CT, a whole lot better at low level play.

>> No.8860087

>>8860040

There are some fundamental problems with her character, mostly in hitbox sizes and attack priorities, but patch 1.10a really helped her out.

Meiling is now capable of dishing out 2.5k+ combos from almost anywhere in the screen, though its probably a good idea to make sure you have proper skill cards first.

She's got a disappointing spell list, but a few are just fine and you don't really need any more than those.

I guess her biggest downside is her lack of zoning and air to ground bullets, but I make good use of her 5C, 6C, and j2B well.

I'm still pretty new (and not the guy you're replying to), but I've been playing Remi a lot and most of her skills seem highly punishable. Her main strengths seem to be her unpredictability and the huge speed of her attacks. 2a is meaty, has a huge hitbox and sets up most of your combos, which I think is a little bizarre because of how mobile Remi is - what's the point of a mobile character if her strongest basic is from crouching?

Remi's fun to play though, but it takes a lot of work adjusting from what stomps bots reliably with a minimum of skill to what actually beats people of similar skill online.

So wait a second, you want me to make a wall of text commenting your play and giving you advice on how to improve so you can quit this game with no regrets? That makes no sense to me.

If you really want my feedback though, I can state the obvious. Your excessive use of j.2A made you get hit many times by my 2C and 22, which I find strange if you are who I think you are since you once commented on other Komas using that move like that. Excuse me if I'm mistaken.

Another thing was carelessness when I had my 5card ice cube at hand, it's a spell that you need to respect or you get swatted like a fly. Caught you quite a few times with it.

Why is everyone quitting this game now anyway? I don't follow what goes on with the community outside /jp/, haven't even been on lobby too much either in the past few weeks since the revival of these threads here.

>you want me to make a wall of text commenting your play and giving you advice on how to improve so you can quit this game with no regrets?
That's right. My appreciation of WoT gameplay commentary goes beyond such pitiful interests.

>you once commented on other Komas using that move like that
You misunderstand. What I'd pound on on other Komas' use of j.2a is as a TK. Otherwise j.2a will somehow work no matter what, as long as you're smart about it. E.g. seeing some Koma use j.2a above mid-air without downwards velocity may look stupid to some non-Komas, but it's simply a strat to punish j.2a punish attempts - with j.2a, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's strats like these that doesn't rely on capitalization, you're just planting seeds fear in your opponent. To sum up: what do you do when x move doesn't work? You make it work. If you can make it work then that's a powerful statement. I've found this to be true to many of her moves. My words on this matter - even as a veteran Koma - are not something that can be generalized. It's a matter of opinion, and I respect yours and am intrigued to share mine.

>it's a spell that you need to respect
I think it makes more sense to respect Cirno's (j.)5c. Without it said SC isn't that scary to me. Without said bullet move it becomes a matter of outsmarting eachother, and at that point it's respecting eachother's wits that matters - at least to me.

Apropos Cirno SCs: that 4-card of yours - seemed fairly useless.

>Why is everyone quitting this game now anyway?
Man, I've had intentions of quitting this game ever since I started playing it. I've said my good byes to the various communities I've been involved in, and now I'll say good bye to you. Good bye, friend, and good luck.

I don't know if you're still going to read this, and hopefully you're not expecting a wall of text like that out of me since it's simply something I can't do being this tired at 4AM.

In any case, I'd have hard time commenting much on that. I think I've said it to you too, that I don't really think too much when I play, I just pay attention and do what I think I can at the time.

One thing I'll pick though:
>that 4-card of yours - seemed fairly useless.
Yeah, I picked it up to give it another fair chance. It does have some good qualities to it, like doing 2 orbs of spirit damage on block at close range, but there's better spells to fill deck space with.

In any case, if you're completely serious about quitting, there's not much I can do about that, except to wish you well. It's been really fun playing with you. Goodbye then.

Yeah, that's bound to add some delay as well as generally make the connection more unstable. Feel free to ask me again when/if you get on a wired connection again.

The delay, when it worked right, was about the same I'd get to Spain, or maybe even France. Shows how physical distance mostly correlates with delay instead of being the direct cause.

I'm serious about the catfish thing, I always have a spare 1.02 installation of Soku at hand for those special occasions.

So many people seem to struggle with port forwarding, hopefully this'll help in getting started.

First of all, make sure that you actually are behind a router. Though this is almost always the case, it's not unheard of to be directly connected to the internet, in which case there's no port forwarding and hosting should work straight away.
To figure this out, run the command prompt (cmd.exe). In there type ipconfig. If the IP address you get starts with 192.168 you are behind a router and need to forward your ports to host.
If you get something else compare it to what you get here: http://www.whatismyip.com/
If they match you are directly connected to the internet, and the issue is elsewhere. Again, this is a very rare case scenario.

From here on you're best off following the default guide for your router at portforward.com, including the part about setting up static IP:
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
If you don't know your router's brand and model, they're likely to be written somewhere on the device itself. If your model isn't listed, try some similar model from the same manufacturer.
While 10800 is the default port you're free to use any port number you want to.
Important: you must select UDP as the protocol when forwarding the port for this game (or both TCP and UDP if your router allows it, though TCP will not be used).

To test out whether you're properly set up, you can use the PFPortCheck program instead of waiting for people to try connecting to you.
http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm
Just use the same port and make sure to select UDP, also make sure you're NOT hosting in Soku at the same time.
If it still doesn't work, double check your router settings and also make sure you don't have a firewall on your computer blocking the connection.

I guess I'd play on a /jp/ team to get destroyed for shits and giggles. Everybody that is half decent has surely joined an IRC team by now.

I have to admit, it annoys me when our games devolve into Danmaku Until Delay Makes Someone Screw Up Their Graze, but I suppose when both parties are down to 0 hp, nobody wants to take a risk. *Especially* not Alice

Good games. Also, I just realized my Tensokukan still isn't working. Sigh. And here I was looking forward to seeing my 30% win rate

Pic related. This is how things are most of the time. I win about half of the time, and you think it's more like 2/3. Stop that.
