Maybe setting up your locate to japanese would work. I dunno, though. There were two programs that were able to play PC-98 games. One of them is shitty, the other is not. I don`t remember the names now.

I just noticed this but is there a reason why the "rei" in Reimu's name is written using the Japanese variant of the kanji where as it's written in traditional chinese in the title of TH01?

I use Anex86 with no problem.

There is a fix for this but I don't remember what they called it. Check Maidens of the Kaleidoscope. I think it got posted there a long time ago.
