Touhou Hisoutensoku is the third fighting game in the Touhou Project and like its predecessors, Immaterial and Missing Power and Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, Touhou Hisoutensoku is a collaboration between ZUN and Twilight Frontier. Due to that collaboration, its art was drawn by Alphes and the music was composed by U2 Akiyama, both from Twilight Frontier.

Playing you is depressing. When I play bobkuu or low tier they at least respect my pressure. You just tech out or wake up special every time, making it clear how bad I am at the game. If I was any good at the game I would be able to tech punish and okizeme but I'm fucking shit at this game.

You can also choose to just tap down over and over until you see them get-up and then press a button for 22B/C depending where they went.

In general, the goal of oki is just to put a meaty hitbox on their wake-up, so try and do that.

Hey good games.
Mashing buttons won't make you win learn some tactics first.
Also if you do the same attack over and over again I will now how to block it, I missed a lot of comboes in those matches mostly due to the fractional lag which was pretty weird, because when we started it was normal but at the end it ran normally and suddenly lag would appear breaking techs, comboes, etc..

Good games, T. As usual, your Patchoul is absolutely infuriating to fight. Is there something about this matchup I'm not getting? Because it seems like Patchy's melee beats Alice due to earlier frames and safer distance, and Patchy's bullets beat Alice as well, even when Alice is in her supposed "sweet spot" with her 6A because Patchy's 6C doesn't care about silly things like melee. I really need some tips on this matchup, because it just destroys me every time

Huh. Well, my Patchouli is one of my weaker characters, which is why I was practicing with her so much. I ended up bullet spamming in the last few patchy matches because, if I tried getting close, I ended up eating a dozen spinning 22B dolls or something. And, as a result, you ended up running away most of the time, which I suppose made things unfun for everyone.

From my end, I felt like I was the one suffering. I don't really know about the matchup since I haven't played with enough Alices to have an opinion (apparently they're pretty even?), but getting close was difficult since you just ran away and kept your distance, putting me at the mercy of f.5a and such. When trying to lock you down, any bullets I tossed out would get eaten by dolls. Pretty much all of my damage was dealt by random bullets or Royal Flare when you wouldn't watch your spirit. If I worked on my Patchy oki, which is complete shit right now, then you might have something valid to complain about.

ggs, to get that damage randomly generally needs either a central C bullet hit or a lucky distance for a crystal dive, the move is rather unsafe but it does end up dealing massive damage once levelled :x

Except for a slideshow match that didn't work I once had in one of the earlier threads, this was the first time I ever played against another human being. And man, how the fuck do I get out of your blockstrings/corner pressure? More than once you just threw me there and won the match without me even causing any damage. Also, it's very hard to use Utsuho's 5C against another person, woah.

Don't worry about lag, I had very little -- both times I froze were problems on my side (and, by the way, thanks for stopping and letting me come back, that was really nice of you). I left because, despite how much I was learning, I still need a little bit of self-esteem to live by, haha.

Nothing wrong with phoon, only a different way to fight. hitstun the opponent a lot so he can't move. Laser moves (Utsuho 6c, marisa 6c, etc.) do it or automatic melee (reimu's 2a, suwako's j5a, etc.) River mist on the other hand is a lot harder to use, but due to it's properties you can make situational combos that aren't normally possible. Of course it's hard to execute and you're better off throwing bullets at them while they charge at you.

It still pushed them together, it just stops whenever they're too close to each other. But regardless of the direction of the push, it creates new spacing for alt skills to hit which normally wouldn't, it's mostly situational more than 5a river mist bnbs

Or the people who play Okuu/Suika/Youmu, the people who tend to use spellcards that are powerful in Typhoon, or the people who win in Typhoon trade because they use Power Rods/Defense dolls/Reisen buff/other buffs I'm forgetting about.

There are lots of things that give you an upper hand in Typhoon actually. I wouldn't be surprised if you could make a pretty good strategy out of playing Okuu with weather cards, Power Rods, the charge alt skill, and Subterranean Sun.

How tough is this game to dive into? I'm not totally new to fighters but I've never been too strong competitively. Is this game execution-heavy like SF/KOF games, or more lenient like BB and MB? It's not exactly hard to make a deck that lets you draw the skills you want fairly reliably. If you absolutely have to draw through your deck and get the cards you want, you can throw in Suika cards too.

Yes, you have to put up with stock skills at least at the beginning of a match. That's because alt skills are frequently (though certainly not always) better than the stock ones.

I can't believe how much damage I'm getting off Komachi 3 card. I mean I've been doing that for a long time, and it isn't as usable since you can only combo into it from c.j2a, but it still puts me in aw how I can do 4700 damage without drizzle or rods.

I actually have a rod deck with it. In drizzle I think it does about 7k damage with rods.

I'm late to the conversation, but I actually use Joy2Key with my dual shock to slightly customize some of the nuances of my control scheme. For instance, it allows me to assign the same input to two different buttons, which allows me to have two buttons for B and C, which allows me to make use of Alice's Ambush Dolls by comfortably holding down R2 or L2 rather than X or Triangle, which would hamper my right thumb's usage for other things

Not that this really matters because I never use Ambush Dollsbecause it sucks.Maybe someday..
