They exist as much as your own consciousness and own self. Some say the self is an illusion, others say consciousness is an illusion because it's not compatible with the view that there's only matter and all other models are wrong. Yet, nobody can doubt they exist or that they are conscious.

Tulpae are as real as your own inner self - very real to you, not as real to others. When looked from a 3rd person perspective that self exists as data in your brain, same would be for your tulpa, but there is no experimental test to objectively verify the existence of someone's consciousness, it's all based on faith.
