In what ways does Touhou fulfill you spiritually, /jp/?

The better question is in what ways I fill Touhous if you know what I mean, am I right lads?

>> No.8809125

I can't explain it. When I read a good, enlightening touhou work, my heart just feels warmer, my eyes get wetter. It's a freeing emotion.

Man, I love Touhou.

Can't believe you put this on /jp/ of all places. I mean, half the people here are disgusting sacks of shit who think it's weird to use Touhou as anything more than something to masturbate too. Heck, the second reply couldn't even be bothered to spell the word right. Pathetic.

I can't wait to see all the cancer that will show up and tell me how wrong I am when I say that I really believe Gensokyo is real.

>> No.8809159

I find it somewhat meditative. When I get in the zone and my eyes lose focus a little so I can take in the whole screen at once it's very zen.

It can be stressful, but the kind of concentration it requires is almost hypnotic. No matter how shitty of a day I'm having, I can forget about it in bullet hell.

You forgot to mention the other half that believes. I believe in Gensokyo, even though I know it's not real. But that's what it is, isn't it? I could go on a really long speech, but I'll just say that I love Touhou. Because it's a neverending story full of rich story that's kept alive by so many people. It's wonderful.

A more mature and sexually arousing wonderland which gives you some freedom to explore and conjecture along with likeable characters and taking it easy in general.

Pretty much the place I'd like to wake up when the dream my life is ends.
Like the Renaissance represents the return to classical Greek and Roman values, Gensokyo is our give back from the frenetic cosmopolitan, urban life.

Just a tranquil place to belong with no cold, cruel determinism.

Sadly, it's slowly killing my motivation to get things done, because it doesn't matter what I do, I'll never get to Gensokyo.

But yeah, this >>8809125

1. As for the games, they have decent technical features for being an independent project, let alone it's mostly made by a single man. One might succeed at life while taking it easy.
2. Gensokyo's lore is quite open and extensive, giving lots of sources to get many interpretations about it. Thus giving birth to a plethora of histories, works (user-made for instance). At some point, this gives good reasons to consider it a culture, provided the community and lore keeps growing which is most likely.
3. All the references about religions, philosophies, history and else gave me a better reason to start looking for eastern cultures and, in some cases, western as well. Also, having faith doesn't suck there and serves for something tangible.
4. The best things about life are the simpliest, and Gensokyo's lifestyle is simplier and enjoyable than here nowadays.
5. Magick and the marvelous magic sport of danmaku. It doesn't need much explaining.
6. The concepts of good and evil are more objective, simplistic and less arbitrary.
7. >>8809218 Pretty much what this Anon said.

Because Gensokyo is 10x better than this shithole we call real life, and I'd rather live in a world where I can be friends with hundreds of cute girls and have cool adventures and danmaku battles.

and so I can be with my waifu

I am deep in thought deciding which ona holes represent each Touhou.
I'm still trying to decide if the Seventeen is Sanae and the Seventeen Evolution is Reimu or viceversa. The 17 is the older model, less stimulating but more sturdy, so I think it applies better to Reimu. But the evo falls apart if you're too rough, and I think Sanae can take a pounding without much problems.
Utsuho is obviously the Tenga Fliphole. Are there cat ona holes for Chen and Orin?
I will update you with a thread containing the final results.
