I feel kinda dirty that I recognize that crappy shadow ripoff.

Good idea for a thread, a focus on mask-making in general would be cool too. favorites would be sorta redundant, I'd think, the top few makers are going to be on everyone's list.

I like GKO and Sigma and Iluca, but there is things I like and dislike about all of them. I'm curious to see how Gaka improves, good smoothness and such, needs to work on lip shape though. Tsuki needs to reveal more shit, It's hard to judge off of just 3 or 4 masks.

Come to think of it, Toiei's go-to studio does some very slick work with costumes and hair, though the masks can sometimes be hit-or-miss depending on the character.

My favorite mask maker is Chikima aka Dolphin Studios. He does a great job on original characters and he can really nail certain characters. For example his Lucky Star masks, Vocaloid Masks and Forte from Galaxy Angel mask. I have noticed that some of the sculpting on a lot of the new Touhou masks he has been releasing can look off at times.

My least favorite and the maker I feel could use improvement would be Wyu. All of his masks look the same despite doing different characters. He also needs to get new eye designs. The current designs just look weird for anime eyes. I must say that Wyu has made some slight improvements lately and I have to give them credit for knowing how to market themselves.

I wish wyu would at least change the eyes for different characters. Nuko masks all use the same models but they look very close to the characters half the time because the EYES are spot-on accurate. Wyu's version of any character just doesn't look like the character because of the same eyes.

Here, I did an edit of a recent senjougahara wyu did. I tried to stay within the limits of her usual eye mold, and removed all the unnecessary black on the eye whites and around it. Looks so much more like the character with just one change like that.
