so, has anyone here read the Django visual novel by Nitro+, or at least know how Japan reacted to it? I really don't know much about it, other than the characters seemingly being inspired by the protagonists from 2 of Sergio Corbucci's flicks (The Great Silence and obviously Django).

I finished it. It's around 10 hours as rather than a novel it's paced like a movie. But it's still completely awesome stuff if you're into hotblooded gun action.

Nitro+ guys are clearly Italyboos because Django is basically spaghetti western pastiche in SPACE.

The main borrowed elements are the great treasure hunt(lifted directly from The Good, Bad and Ugly) and a revolution.

The plot is centered around in planet Sweetwater, where "three hotgirl warriors" Franco il Nero, Lily Salvatana and Nameless/Blondie are betraying but also helping each other while they search for a great treasure. In the background a revolution rages on.

They shuffle between many revolutionary factions who oppose the army and the Protozoas who reside in the orbit and keep humans in check with their mass driver attacks. The attacks are targeted against any displays of use of high level technology.

Thus the planet Sweetwater is stuck around 1880's aside from the space dock that allows people leave the hellhole if they have around 50000 dollars.

It's about standard for a Nitroplus eroge, about as good as Kikokugai, pretty disappointing since it was released a few months after Gekkou though (My favorite Nitroplus eroge so far).
