Yukkuris are Touhou characters' heads who always say "take it easy!" (their speech is not very expansive)
Their origin can be traced to 2chan, where some Anon there tried to ASCII art a Touhou head, but failed horribly. Pic is the result.
The other anons liked that and it became a meme. That eventually got here.

-Two smaller yukkuris emerge from the remains of a dead one.
-Two yukkuris can entertain each other. However, if you leave one alone for a long time, it will feel lonely and will die.
-They are filled with pasta beans. This means they can be eaten.

More things we missed:
-Yukkuris dissolve in water. It is unknown if they can drink it.
-There is a fourth kind of Yukkuri: "mutated". These are normal Touhous infected a "Yukkuri virus". The subject exposed to said virus loses size (from normal size to about a meter or 3.3 feet tall) and intelligence (from whatever intelligence the subject had to "Yukkuri" intelligence: this means complete loss of advanced mental processes and most basic ones, like speech). The subject's head also loses size (but not as much as the rest of the body) and acquires Yukkuri proportions. Finally, s/he acquires the "crying moe" ability common to Yukkuris.
Only Reisen, Remilia and Flandre are infected. Nothing is known about the virus (for example, how it spreads, if the normal Yukkuris are carriers, if it is contagious, if it can be cured, etc.)
