The tier lists that exist currently are outdated so just go by the most recent tournament which was.

Just to note again, Tonberry really only uses/used Kohaku. Hisui comes into the picture briefly during some pressure strings but otherwise it's all the slut. ┐(´ー`)┌

Tonberry and LK are two of the stronger/strongest US players and Garu is someone that actually traveled from Japan for the tournament. Kohaku is a strong character, but they would have done well/won regardless. The rest of top 8 and 16 represented a decent mix of the cast.

Part of doing silly moves is that I just have poor control, I end up doing Kouma's 236C oftentimes when I mean to do 6C, for example. It's a problem for me in things like swordfighting too, my posture just gets worse over time and I end up even worse after a few minutes.
And I can't seem to find a character that feels satisfactory, though I know that I won't... Ah well, I suppose I'll watch some more videos until I can decide.

you seem to have a pretty sound understanding of the game. be cautious of predictability, particularly with your heat activation, which you used invariably when you were cornered and low on health. (i don't want to sound arrogant, but i didn't really punish your heats because they never really became a problem for me.)
the predictability also applies to you attemps to mash out of my blockstrings, usually with 2c. that type of behavior opens you up to IADs and staggered blockstrings, both of which i was able to hit you with consistently because i knew what you were going to do. granted, this is mashy blood and i don't want to tell you to NEVER hit buttons while blocking, but i would advise being careful while doing so.

aside from that, work on optimal BNBs and being able to hit-confirm (as always i'll recommend setting the dummy to random block in training mode).

If you play BB and Marvel, you won't have any problems with the execution in Melty, unless you want to try C-Roa or F-Arc.

VSion (especially in H-moon) is super easy. She doesn't have any good zoning tool, but she has a decent j.C and good mobility. Her combos are kind of easy, and she has good mixups.
H-Sion is pretty similar, but slightly harder to play than VSion.

F-Riesbyfe is the most noob friendly character in the game IMO. Good pokes, crazy damage, no execution required.

If you want good tools and zoning, you can try Akiha and C-Wlen, but I wouldn't really consider Wlen easy.

Finally, Hisui (crescent and full moon). She is easy to play in both moons, has good tools and zoning, a lot of mobility, and pretty good overall. Her optimized combos might be a little hard though, and you will have to spend time in the training room to understand how her projectiles work.

ggs whoever the roa player was, wtf lol. Roas airdash is fucking godlike online, I dont remember it being like that offline. Still trying to get used to the delay, I usually input my combos alittle fast and they wont come out or something dumb like that. Jesus those 5k damage combos off those airdashes, I couldnt block that shit for some reason, it seems much harder to block that online.

I've been watching this game be played for half a decade and keep up on streams (and many other fighters, especially BB), and I can confidently say the top 4 at Final Round was a good representation of player skill, and not tier list. If you want to understand character's strength and weaknesses, you should watch the A-cho same character tournament. That'll give you a much better idea of the strengths/weaknesses of each character. C-Roa and C-Nero are by far the best characters in this version of the game. LK, who is also a frequent blazblue champion, Garu, who is a Japanese player, and Tonberry who has no life and done nothing but training mode Melty blood everyday for the last 2 years (and played much longer than that - he used to main warakia, kohaku and Tohno, NOT just exclusively kohaku or maids) represent a skill level beyond that of any other American player currently.

I'd say the rest of top 8 was kind of up for grabs, though several players, such as Pfhor, Ehrik, GenericSuperHero, HF-Blade, Komidol, Brandino, RoverRuckus, Numakie, I'd say are getting better - and they ALL play different characters. I think Pfhor is probably the best and him not getting into top 8 was the most disappointing part of Final Round, if you watched the stream.

wouldn't be surprised, I heard pfhor was like the worst character in mbac, and komidol was the worst player in mbaa, so if Kohaku got better, they must just abuse her buffs to of gotten better. that's what fighting games are really about - just abusing character mechanics, and they probably just got better at that after watching LK since they all play Kohaku

New to MB. Offer me 3-5 chars to choose from that are good enough to compete but still noob friendly. I'm on a vacation now and don't have anyone to play Street Fighter or TvsC so I'm trying to pick up MB now and really get into it.

Why is this question always asked, the answer given before was Roastbeef.

Tohno Shiki, Nanaya and Ciel are good for beginners.

You should probably use Crescent moon first if you have no Melty Blood experience whatsoever, to get used to the mechanics.

Is consistently defeating the computer on Hardest difficulty a decent way of measuring one's skill level?

How good is the CPU in terms of being a decent training opponent?

Or does being accustomed to playing the CPU actually make one a worse player against other human players?

The CPU sucks at the game. Even I can beat it.

The only AI decent in a fighting game is Akatsuki's one, don't count on Melty's.

Neither do I, but it sure is frustrating to get cornered by Kohaku who has aparently 0 recovery time on her skills

Uh hey guys, I was that newer Hatsuko player, I kinda came up with a combo and was wondering if its even worth training for.

Fdash 5A 2A*3 5A*2 5B 5C 2C 3C 623C or 236C 214B 623A

Doing 2C to 3C is kinda difficult for me, because of the timing for 623C Sometime's the dummy will recover if I'm too slow.

does it do more dmg than what you could find in the meltybread forums? if not then it's probably not worth training for.

Well i doubt it, I only got up to 3.8K, and i only managed to do it right once, out of the hundreds tries, but most of them were edits.
