How do you think that the touhou games will end? Will ZUN make one last game and say "well, this is it, hope you enjoyed it", or is there a possibility that he might pass it on to someone else to keep them going? Crying Satori picture because fuck her happiness.

It'll end like every other doujin game/game maker. He'll get bored with making them and then never update his blog ever again. Every one will check it a few times a year for updates but it will never be updated, even though they pay for it apparently so it never gets taken down.

He wrote he will continue to make touhou games until he dies of alcohol poisoning. I believe him.

But what happens after he dies?

His sons or relatives will sell the rights to a commercial company for a bazillion of yen and then we'll get a shitton of touhou branded games that will suck but will sell anyway because they are touhou.

Don't believe me? See what happened with Dune or the LotR universe.

Totally not the same. ZUN allows thousands of fanbooks to be sold for money every year. The Herbert and Tokien estates zealously guard their rights and you might have three days between starting to sell your fanbook and one of them sending you a C&D.

We have to make sure that he never dies.

ZUN is eternal.

Of course, but that's because ZUN is still alive.

Let it die and leave a beautiful corpse rather than watch it rot.
