I've actually considered something like this for a while.
I'm sadly normal enough to hold a pretty decent job that could support two people no problem (cover rent/utilities, buy food, etc.). Move from a rural area to the city to do uni and be able to get youth allowance and you will be getting between 400 and 550 a fortnight, 5000 when you first move and around 2000 every semester.

I have mixed feelings about the quantity of rain (I am also born and raised, though on the North side of the 49th). I have a small, 2-bedroom apartment and I always wanted some company. One bedroom is basically my "gaming" room, but I could easily move everything out of it if you didn't want to share my room.
I live in South California, and am willing to provide free housing and internet (with water and the like being provided free of charge by the apartment complex).
I will not be able to pay for your food, however I do occasionally bring home a lot of food from friends who work in some food-tasting plant. You can have all of that as long as you're willing to fill out a form about the taste and texture.

Anyways, some rules:

I have an irrational fear of women, and I am much more comfortable around males. Having said that, I am not interested in pursuing a relationship beyond friendship and companionship.
