Well, for me at least part of the fun is imagining how the characters interact with each other, whether it's serious plot business, drama, romance, comedy, or just the random day-by-day.

Most artist's have the annoying tendency to just go for the easy generic and exaggerated stuff. Very little subtlety to be found.
