Is there racism between youkai, spirits, gods and other Gensokyo residents, or is that something else that Reimu has to try to regulate before it gets our of hand?

GO TO HELL YOUKAI

They're all pretty well segregated by Yukari. The only place that they really interact is at the human village (which Keine can defend) or at parties (where everyone's too drunk to care).

What about Byakuren? She seemed to have problems with people that didn't fit her specifications.

She was behind the times.

Do cross "species" (I'm using this term loosely here) marriages happen in Gensokyo? Are there racial laws to regulate this?

>> No.8643403

ZUN has stated that they're all cool with each other. Only when a powerful youkai has been known to eat humans is there a problem. I dont consider Reimu racist. Maybe she was just really passionate about her job that day.

Yes, Gensokyo has a host of anti-miscegenation laws to preserve the purity of the races.

I don't see why not.

Suika was kind of condescending to the Tengu when she talked to Aya, otherwise I can't think of another instance where racism has come up.

It doesn't need to even be really blatantly obvious, I was wondering if there is a sense of superiority between races in a Chain of Beings sort of way where there was an obvious sense of superiority or entitlement between one kind of creature over another.

Youkai/Human relationships are not natural.

Everyone feels superior to the fairies. Most of the fairies sans Cirno seem to either accept their weakness too and readily admit to it.
