With the recent reminiscing of /jp/ radio I thought I may start up something similar. Between nothing else to do and having years of piled up doujin albums I figured, why not?

Where and how would you like me to stream and what would you like to hear? I had electronic music in mind but I'm open to suggestions. I have everything from piano, vocals, house, hardcore, dnb, electro, glitch, denpa and most of what's from the recent Comikets.

Would this be a waste of time or would you be interested in this /jp/?

Is /jp/ radio really gone for good? Any status updates?

Why not follow their example? It seem to have worked fairly well for them while they had it up.

A lot was what listeners uploaded and requested. Though I imagine its more disk intensive to allow free uploading to it.

I dislike that, you get one "DJ" with horrible taste and have to listen to shit for an hour.

If I could get some legit DJ's to submit a mix I'd play it but otherwise would you guys like to hear mixes, shuffles set by genre, full albums at a time or do you like the user submitted music idea?

I'm shooting for a 24hr stream so it would be on cruise control part of them time but I'd be managing it more than not.

>>8626965

I'm working on building up my denpa library. I'd like to find some more denpacore but lately there's only been one or two tracks an album. Would you enjoy something like this?

So what, are we heading head-first in to some denpa-only radio stream? Its not like you can find that plenty places elsewhere. /jp/ radio was /jp/'s radio because it was made up of music /jp/ listened to (most of the time)

/jp/ radio had some variety at least. Only thing I didn't like was when Boris came up. That wasn't music, just noise.

If you're gonna go the DJ way, I could just listen to Krautchan instead and it'd be the same thing. Touhouradio already exists too, so that would be dumb. Denpa radios are around as well, and I could just find those to listen to if I needed.
I really miss /jp/ radio.

This is just an opinion, but Vocaloid is really an acquired taste... I like it, but if you're making this for general /jp/, I'd only use the best songs(stuff like Freely Tomorrow, HAKUMEI, etc), and every once in awhile.

I think most of the songs considered classics are a little too tinny for normal people to appreciate. I love all of it, but I can't see anyone who hasn't spent a good amount of time listening to Vocaloid to appreciate something like cosMo's rapid speech songs, or Melt's super-high-pitched voice and clown music.

tl;dr Vocaloid's fine with me but if you're going to play it I'd try to pick stuff where the voice sounds as human as possible. An alternative would be utatte mita stuff(videos where people sing Vocaloid songs--some of them are very good, but doing this might lead to some people getting angry/trolling).

PS: Luka seems pretty popular on /jp/.

The only reason /jp/ radio was remotely interesting was user upload.

A big portion of the reason it was successful was development. It used a decent commercial software, SAM broadcaster, and had a nice front end. The site allowed users to request freely in certain time intervals, which could be adjusted if the request queue clogged up. Also, an artist could only be in the queue once.

Unless you're going to put some serious effort into this outside just sending a broadcast out to the world, I would say don't bother.

/jp/ radio had a voteskip function...? I used to upload troll songs and they played until the end while people in the thread bitched.

I've been casually mentioning this in some other threads, but I got bored one day and basically re-implemented /jp/ radio on a local machine. If someone wants to host it I could clean it up and upload the CGI scripts somewhere. You'd need to configure mpd and install some perl modules.

Threads like this are seen as advertisements of stream, thus are subject to deletion. moot and the mod have explicitly expressed their stance on this matter numerous times, you can search the archive and look up that one sticky.

Having said that, whether or not to start a petty unreasonable series of whining hinging on this incident is entirely up to you.

Bringing up trivial shit to your defence eh? I wasn't aware that /jp/ existed in 2007. Rule still applies. Do a simple search of /a/radio or r/a/dio with moot in their archive, see for yourself. And I'm only using /a/ even though I don't visit it simply because the board has more traffic and
but guess what, I can't be bothered to argue anymore, you already sound too eager to go on your whining rampage, reasons obviously won't work, so just have it your way.

>I wasn't aware that /jp/ existed in 2007

I didn't, I'm guessing your screenshot is from /a/, and you're awfully defensive about pretending you're not from there. There's nothing in this archive from moot concerning the radio. What he said on a different board half a decade ago while /jp/ radio has since been up 4+ years since then probably better approaches what you call "trival shit".
