Because you can't use both.

I like this daily thread because I can ramble on about cooking. I'm baking a cake today. I just pulled the two layers out of the oven and spritzed them with additional lavender water. I used a small amount of food coloring to give the layers a pleasant pale purple color.

I still need to do the frosting and I'm not entirely sure what kind I'll do. I bought some unsalted butter yesterday so I suppose I'll end up doing some kind of buttercream. I experimented with meringue frostings in the past but I don't really like them all that much. Nothing against them, but they just have a plain taste and seem too light for my liking. If I were ever doing an unflavored plain white cake, I would definitely use a meringue frosting. It's incredibly light, bright white, and has a taste that's very similar to marshmallow.

A cake? My younger sister would help me with that if I wanted one. Do you have someone to aid you?

Most of the time no. When I'm cooking something and my younger cousin is over she'll help out, but that's usually not the case.
