Hey, sorry about this and all, but has anyone managed to fruitfully get AGTH working with rUGP? It crashes, seemingly because of some infinite loop it gets caught in with the engine's thread or something.

Depends on how complex the writing of the game is, but generally not worth it unless you put in some effort to learn japanese as you go. It's a very nice crutch to get around the problem of tough kanji / vocabulary.
