How did you guys bring yourselves to play other routes, knowing what happens to Aeko?

I find it difficult to sympathize with those who do not attempt to protect themselves.

Oh come on. She had a horrible family life, with her mom and dad fighting all the time. So that alone is hard, especially when transferring schools and such. Did you ever switch schools? It's hard as hell to make friends, which I'm sure much as /jp/ can sympathize with. Not to mention right off the bat she had Antionette cast the majority of the school against her.

When you're shy, a new girl, and you feel like everyone doesn't like you, it's hard to ""protect yourself". I guess not everyone is as strong as you are.

I agree with this fargot, what's the big idea about defenseless heroines in VN's? Every time a girl who isn't timid comes on the screen I jump on her.

I actually felt sick when she almost got raped. Her screaming with all those girls cheering really got to me.

I never had problems making friends and I was the smallest and shyest guy in class.
Your animus exaggerate too much what happens at school, you prolly didn't make any friends because you are a dunk ass

I normally don't like shy girls either, but you have no soul if you didn't like Aeka's route.

Pretend it doesn't happen. That was the thing I liked the least about this game. Without Kouhei the girls lives are just fucked. There are three of them and one of him. It does bother me in the back of my mind though, Aeka that is. My favorite scenes in the game come from Aeka's route, where she's finally able to unleash all the shit she was holding back. Kyoka got your desk all dirty, and what does Aeka do? She fucking punches her in the face, for you. I liked Aeka a lot. Spoilering my image, for those who haven't played the game.

>> No.8549903

>>8549844

Aeka is hardly defenseless. They make you think she is, that's the trick. But she's got balls of steel and she's making the best of a bad situation, and she does it with a smile on her face. Kouhei even says, he had no idea she was such a strong girl.

Any VNs where there is a route to romance the bully? It was the one thing YMK seriously lacked.

>horrible family life
I had one.

>transferring schools
I did this a few times.

>the majority of the school
I usually had the entire school against me, including the staff.

>shy
I am very bashful when I'm "the new guy."

>you feel like everyone doesn't like you
I often knew as much, not just felt it.

I still always stood up for myself. It is partly because I have experienced such difficulties and persevered that I don't sympathize easily.

I still enjoyed the route, but I saw it as natural that someone so unwilling to fight for survival would die, so I had little difficulty taking the other routes thereafter.

Why? She could be a girl that bullies you, the protagonist, but ends up falling for you. That's moe. Wasn't there a character like that in GTO?

>> No.8549923

>>8549910
It sounds a lot like you're blaming her for getting bullied, because she was "weak". Not everyone can do it alone. Before she met Kouhei she just tried to make the best of a bad situation, since she knew Antoinette would never give up no matter when she did. Then when she started going out with Kouhei, she had somebody to lean on.

If you remember, she hit Antoinette in the face when she put dirty towels on Kouhei's desk. That lead to Kouhei getting hospitalized, and later her almost getting raped. There really isn't a "right way" to handle bullying. In the end they leave the school altogether, because they know that's their only choice.

>> No.8549926

>>8549910

I agree on fighting for survival, but I don't think Aeka had any reason to fight. Let's say Kouhei picks one of the other girls over him. The only guy that ever talked to you besides jingai (who is a colossal faggot about everything) has chosen to be with another girl. Her mom only barely could afford to pay her tuition, and even that had difficulties becase kyoka's a bitch. Her family is always fighting, everyone at school straight out ignores her when she gets stungunned in class, what reason does she have to fight? She dared Kyoka to kill her, because she couldn't take it anymore. She was at wits end.

You are resorting to strawmen. This conversation is pointless.

>what reason does she have to fight?
Survival.

If there is anything in this world you enjoy, it is worth surviving for that alone. She had her own hobbies and interests, so she had no reason to simply give up, even if it felt like the whole world was against her.

>> No.8549947

>>8549915
maybe not bullying, but there are a few teasing characters in VNs. Like Kurugaya.

>> No.8549951

>>8549938

I already mentioned that she straight up doesn't care about survival at that point. She fucking dares Kyoka to end it all, because she can't take it. No matter what she does, she can't find peace at home or at school. Everyone around her ignores her or treats her like dirt, and she dealt with it for a good long time, in a stalwart fashion. But enough is enough. That shit added up and no matter what she did, Kyoka was going to make her life progressively worse, especially after jingai returned.

No. You said she gave up. I told you she had reason not to give up and you dismissed it on the basis that she gave up.

You are assuming her actions are correct and arguing based off this. It is circular logic.

Aside from that, it's not really the point of an argument to have fun...

I suppose the discussion is over now, though.
