I do love Japan and Japanese culture! I am not embarrassed, it is incredibly interesting! Japanese chicks are hot as fuck and anime is some funny ass shit. Japanese food totally rules and they have some of the most forward thinking fine art in the world.

I wasn't talking about me, I was talking about you. You don't have to prove yourself better for liking a country for one reason as opposed to another, Japanese people do not care if you like tea ceremony or sumo or whatever you think "true" japanese culture is.

I'm from America originally, if someone told me they love America because of rock music, cartoons, whatever, I wouldn't get nerd rage over it like weeaboos do about each other. If they said "Jersey Shore" like your example, I would think they aren't really the kind of person I want to be friends with I guess, because I don't like that lifestyle. But it's still part of American culture. I think a "normal" Japanese person would have a similar reaction to someone liking the nerdy aspects of Japan. (Although these days otaku stuff is all over TV and everybody seems to think otaku are funny / interesting.)
