Stop for a second, why are you here on /jp/?

Did you open up the web browser you thought to yourself:
Im going to make this board as shitty as possible today!

I hope you didn't, but some people must have.

Im getting tired of this board since it gets worse and worse for everyday, I don't really know why i brows this board anymore.

this is worse then /b/ /v/ and /a/ together, and that's not what we used to be, not in my opinion.

I believe one 'metathread' is enough so I will be moving my last message here to this thread.
If /jp/ is a failed experiment board then why doesn't moot just delete it?
What brings a father to enjoy seeing his own son suffer like this?

Is it too much to ask him to end our suffering?
Is it too much to ask him to let /jp/ rest?
A board shouldn't exist for the sole purpose of being the target of hatred of another, it's just not right.

I loved you /jp/.
You used to be everything to me in this world...
But things have changed, I can't stand to see you suffer like this anymore.
If ceasing this board life is what it takes to end this cycle of suffering and hatred then I will accept it.
I will not shed any tears for you /jp/.
I will not shed any tears for you because the /jp/ that I used to love and cherish is long gone. The precious memories I have of the real /jp/ are safe inside my heart.
This "/jp/" is merely a shell of it's former self. The only thing it carries from the old /jp/ is it's name.

I curse this board.

I curse this fake /jp/.

May all your threads turn into a sea of shitposts and drown the remnants of this board in it.
I hope you enjoyed doing this to the only place that ever meant something to me in this world.

Over the past few months /jp/ has seen one of the most significant declines in it's entire history. Dark times. Perhaps the worst — shitposting, spam, and terrible threads are all normal. /a/ and /v/ users are even starting to outnumber actual real posters. Mass shit. Forced memes. Everywhere. And they've effectively won, because our moderation has shunned us. They beat us.~Nohryonnnnn.

Unfortunately for them we won't give up on the place that *was* our home so easily; we're not going down without a fight; in a time where this place is forsaken, and the light at the end of the tunnel is so dim that it's barely visible, and you're so close to death that you just want to close your eyes... the last stand has arrived. Like-minded individuals who once called /jp/ a home will align with our philosophies. Think of this as the last refuge of actual /jp/ers. We're still out here. Shitposters come? We destroy them. The /a/ that has overtaken /jp/ comes? Gunned down. Shitty memes? Not a chance.~Nohryonnnnn.

There's also been allegations of this turning into a circlejerk; know that as long as I breath there's not a chance. Come discuss with us on #true/jp/ @ Rizon. Anyone involved in in founding any initial projects will get some form of authority.~Nohryonnnnn.

The quality and speed of the board has obviously declined, but instead of talking about it, why don't we try making interesting threads? If you have a clear definition of what is a good thread, you should be able to make them. And if you want to see them in the front page, just keep them bumped. It's not that hard. The fact that shit threads keep getting bumped is because we're too busy complaining about them instead of not giving a shit and making and/or talking in good threads.

/jp/ is shitty for the same reason ACTA SOPA. and every other ridiculous eviction notice is happening; kids can into internet now. In all honesty we were lucky to last as long as we did, I mean look at the rest of 4chan. This was never the capital city of great posters or renown for it's quality, but look what happened when kids flooded the site.

They don't know how to read, or enjoy media, they don't know how to discuss, and they certainly can't do anything constructive. Their only options are exceedingly simple video games where they can continue the circlejerk they've made the internet into. Otherwise all they do is gather and whine about their lives, as if they somehow matter. That's all their shitposting is, their shitposting imagemacros and catchphrases are all for the sake of the illusion of some kind of community, but the fact is so proud are they are their cat macros that hundreds of websites are more than happy to explain to the "uninitiated" what they're all about.

So they grab names and trips, talk about themselves, and spam pictures they either think no one has, or only someone from their little clique would understand.

The internet has changed, and we will have to, too. It took them long enough to catch up to us the first time, and with all the legal bullshit going on, and shit like facebook still existing here, they will be pretty damned slow to follow us to whereever and whatever we set up to escape this hell.

I'm slowly moving away from /jp/, as well. It's an absolute mess overrun with people who have no interest in Touhou, VN's or anything /jp/ related, in general. It's become a language discussion board, with the regular ``Let's cry and blog about our shitty lives NEET/Hikki threads'' and the usual shit threads trying to get some ``rage'' going. Ironic or not, threads about being transgender, sucking dicks, or whatever these idiots can shit out are not cute or funny. Good thing I have some alternatives to /jp/.

Everybody is going to hate the idea, but I've thought about making a separate imageboard. I would pay for the hosting and take care of it. A friendly anonymous place devoid of shitposting, for discussing exactly the same stuff as we do here (everything else is off topic).
But I'm not sure how could this be a success.
Is it possible? to migrate our good user base to it? or would it be another failed wasteland? please share your thoughts, I'm thinking hard about this...
So far I thought about making it so it uses accounts internally but everybody posts anonymously or using wathever trip they feel like (just like here). Only the admin would have access to who is who and would agree not to use this information, deleting logs regularly. It would have a registration queue, IMHO the most effective way to drive away shitposters. Moderation would take it easy and not restrict anything but obvious shitposts, the users can moderate with sage everything else.
/jp/ would be perfect if nobody could avoid bans. So my idea is to have a similar place where you cannot avoid bans.
Do you think this is a bad idea? would you come? how would you do it instead?

Children do not only enjoy Bleach and Twilight, they can also enjoy other popular works such as Planetes and Sherlock Holmes. Just because some popular works are bad does not mean that all popular works are bad. You are cherry picking to support your case.

Incorrect. Are you aware of a person named Évariste Galois. While still in his teens, he was able to determine a necessary and sufficient condition for a polynomial to be solvable by radicals, thereby solving a long-standing problem. His work laid the foundations for Galois theory and group theory, two major branches of abstract algebra, and the subfield of Galois connections. He was the first to use the word "group" (French: groupe) as a technical term in mathematics to represent a group of permutations.

>The ease of access and mass use of piracy sources are what led to this. And the bills won't stop anyone who knows what they are doing anyway. As such they are mostly aimed at children, and the handful of adults who still in this age don't understand the internet.

I find your claim absolutely ridiculous. Children do not pirate nearly as much as adults, and if your claim was true, then since children pirate more than adults, they would also be more knowledgeable about pirating than adults, an implication I find ludicrous, and hence would be LESS affected by SOPA than adults.
