nobody plays maple anymore. there are some scattered about players on /v/ but they can never play together because everyone is in a different world/ different level group. to alleviate this, everyone who wants to is starting a fresh character in Kradia, where there already exists the only consistent /v/ guild, TunnelSnakes. but we won't be joining that guild because it would defeat the whole purpose of everyone enjoying those New Adventure feelings together. we will allign with them so we can play, at a later time when we level some.

also i've got some other plans for this thing if it works right that i'd like to commit to but cant because i'm not sure how many peeps are down with this. I want to dick around with people a lot. it'd be nice to have an organized group on an mmo you know? especially when most of the players are so naive. i wanted a bunch of anons to take a stirge transformation potion with a stirge familiar and just run around town, confusing the fuck out of everyone. We'd be doing pq's/boss runs together. It'd be nice to have a competent team for once.
it's alright if you have a character in kradia already, i dont see anything wrong with getting funded by a parent account. (personally i dont have any accounts in kradia but it doesnt bother me that some do).

No new super OP bots for the most part. The moe forms of the Three Guardians are kind of average in this meta. The last set of new OP moebots came out a bit before the end of last year and they were just another melee and TBG-lite. After Mialy's buffs, TBG doesn't seem so bad in comparison so a lite version of her didn't make much of an impact.

There's a new set that's been foreshadowed for the past few weeks though. Apparently they will be an AIR and a SUP, but don't take my word for it. How OP they will be is yet to be seen.

Framerate and memory issues aside G1 could still be doing better. The recent threat changes were blown out of proportion by people trying to abuse the system.

The biggest issue I think is the insanely high prices in the cash store combined with the lack of selection in the cash store. Premium costs around 13 USD a month, which for the benefits it provides is really very steep.

Another issue would be the mission system and how the playerbase handles it. The low time-to-kill means players don't have a lot of time to react to situations. This problem is made much worse with poor connections or poor framerates. Getting only 14 FPS in any close combat situation has forced me to only fight midrange or longer. Sadly the JG/CSG and OCA/macro-Joker seem to be the most popular weapons.

I like the game a lot, but playing gives me headaches.

I hate MMOs too, but for a different reason. As soon as you walk in one you're immediately expected to do certain things. Namely click the guy in front of your face with the exclamation mark and start your linear quest all the way to max level, which you should reach for optimum enjoyment.

You can't just start somewhere and just fucking play. You can't do that because mmos are not amazing at all. You have to always fight something till you start seeing yourself fighting them in your dreams while you sleep, craft something till you turn blue in the face, or play with assholes you were paired up with by the automatic-party asshole finder.

You can't just take a walk in an mmo, because it'd serve no purpose other than waste time. The environment is shit and boring as well. You can't make a long journey to another city because all mmo worlds are fucking tiny. Everyone's always running all the time because walking is the most useless feature known to mmos. Why even include walking animations, really?

NPCs are still the same unintelligent shit, and everything in game is represented in numbers which pop up in your face like it's supposed to impress you, or are calculated meticulously so faggots of the highest caliber can minmax for a boss fight in a fucking mmo.

And the worst of it, every fucking body is considered a great, valorous courageous hero.

Everything you have said is pretty much spot on with what I feel.

My PC lags up whenever there are vehicle explosions or if I get shot with a shotgun (Particles kill my GPU).

I absolutely love the game for its customization, with the decals and player creation, but I hate how free to play people get screwed out of that part. And I recently got the charge cisco, and I am quite pissed that it costs $100 just to fucking spawn it. 1 mission win, on average is around $700 for me, and I'd definitely like to spawn it more than 7 times a goddamn mission.

But I have to agree that the game makes me miserable with everybody using the OCA and Joker carbine with CJ3 and RS3. Drive me absolutely bat shit insane.

I bought premium for a while, back when it was a little cheaper.

When it ran out I had to stop using my Mikro and Cisco entirely. I've heard the upgradeable Calabrias are also free to spawn, but I haven't tested since they are only unlocked at the boss contacts.

I love the customization of all the stuff. I love the theme and style of the game. I would even enjoy the gameplay if it weren't for the hyper-competitive playstyle and low framerates.

I've been playing Maplestory lately. I heard there was a /jp/ guild on Broa, so I made an account on there, but never heard anything about it after that. It's pretty boring and now that I'm fairly high level, there's nothing to do alone.

I was going to pick up Vindictus again, but the new gold penalty for high level players made me drop it. I don't know what they were thinking adding that shit.

I want a game to play with /jp/ again. It seems like nothing interesting is coming besides TERA, which I wouldn't be able to run anyway.

DFO is cute anime style, kinda. It's a little more korean battle manga than cutesy japanese moe though. It also isn't that old (earliest release was around 2006, US release in 2009). Graphics may be 2d but they're very shiny and eyecandy and aren't ugly at all.

Hackers are still there, but if you stick to rooms with majority of non-rookie players, they just get kicked instantly.
The problem is, I can't imagine anyone starting to play S4 now. There's just nowhere to learn the required basics since low level channels are overrun with EGs and other assorted retards, and the rooms in free channel are either just as bad, or you'll get kicked from them as a rookie.

And you have to learn somewhere, or else you'll just get curbstomped by the paying players, since the game is largely pay to win unless you're massively good.

I still have fun in the game, though past few days I mostly played Tribes, but I can't recommend anyone playing it.

It's kinda spread out because of the people living in different timezones, so it might be a bit more or less than 18. When the threads were first made around October (and spammed by some fag) we had about 40(?) people or so, and then in about a week our numbers started thinning from there. Expect Hax. Nexon is still working on fixing whatever was allowing people to crash the servers and delete people characters and use GM powers and stuff.


When it's working correctly, expect to get exp for fucking EVERYTHING, smack the shit out of bushes and trees, to get absolutely owned by everything until you learn to play.. wait, it's casualized now, so maybe not that one. .

Also you can actually level up and progress just doing things like making items and doing part time jobs for NPCs. Hell, there's a party every saturday where you can sit in a castle and get exp for just partying.

Also cool cutscenes and ridiculous cutscenes for good food, and a bunch of minigames like jousting and races that no one cares about.

Also you can be a bard and play magic music to buff people and tame animals with the power of sound. Also you can write the music yourself for maximum annoyance/copyright breakage.

Open beta for the new Ragnarok 2 starts soon in Korea. As with new versions, players in the older version will probably have the inside scoop on the earlier closed betas. It was like that for major IRO patch updates where a solid core of the better players would frequently go to the test server to help the company find any problems or unforeseen consequences before releasing the patch to the public.

While there are no tangible rewards doing this, you do learn what to do with changes ahead of time AND safely because deaths and gear losses are not permanent there. So when the patch appears, you and those people are the first to take advantage and get even further ahead of the pack. Repeat over and over for each major patch, and your advantage in game over others shows up. Another plus is that when you have a problem, the chance a game master helps you immediately is waaay better. That makes sense because you are a proven resource to the game and game community.

Why? It has more opportunity. Ragnarok Online after its renewal and game mechanic changes was less grindy and more varied. I like how people wander more maps now, especially with various monsters and things moved around.

And the Renewal's New World has that new continent beyond the Rift Gate for those strong enough to handle it. Or if not, they can try to avoid the monsters and reach the safety of a town or city on the new maps.

Some people never master things since they play brute force. I've seen plenty use the landscape to their advantage. I've seen people make "fortresses" by idling their chars along with pets that can fight. One clever person would idle three of those in the middle of the map and other players would come by and rest in safety. Or they would lure a wagon train of monsters over for the pets to handle them; they would then safely pick up all the dropped loot. For low level players unable to kill those monsters to pick up the high level monster loot freely is a godsend for those short on starting funds. Nasty players would try to move a bunch of man-eating plants over though, but that was fixed when the pets evolved up and cast spells that could really hurt.

It depends on what type of char you play. If you have a priest or healer type, well, that usually means you play with others. In Ragnarok Online, you can solo and transcend a priest as well as get all your gear yourself if you know what you are doing.

As for solo in RO, the "Prince" of players transcended his into a Champion from a scratch char in approx 12 hours without aid and playing as a solo player. There are people who can't even get to the first level monk class in 12 hours. He was not lying as he documented the whole journey with screenshots and posted it, but complaints made him take it down. There was fear that people would just copycat what he did and still never know how to UNDERSTAND how to play ragnarok online.

I'm scared about RO 2. It looks cute and have a couple nice ideas and all, but... it lacks exactly what made the first RO so incredibly popular - so popular the game had a fuckton lot more of people than the devs thought it'd have, to the point that became a problem.

The balanced cuteness.

The first RO was cute enough to attract people who were into anime, VNs, lolis and stuff, but not enough to creep out people who just wanted a MMO to pass their time on. Plus the small customization was also just cool enough for some people to make adopted chars with cute little hair ornaments, or to others to collect stylish hats.

World: tons imagination poured into every scenario... a huge world to explore. Even if it was just based on real cultures, it's great. Monsters and folklore from everywhere! Japanese yokai, jumping chinese zombies, faeries, all kind of monster girls... basically all the good monsters.
Gameplay: plays a lot like a console jRPG
Drama: the game is (or was) chock full of weeaboos half roleplaying. It was like having your own anime show and living it.
PVP: war of the emperium is the most exciting pvp I've played. The gameplay mechanics were shit, but I always had a blast, I don't quite grasp why, but the atmosphere was great.
Extra: It was full of real girls too that were attracted by the overall cuteness, so the sausage odor was not too asphixiating like in othe MMOs. I had some girlfriends... they were technically 3dpd, but they were interacting with me through a 2d avatar, and they were also usually underage!

Too bad RO2 looks like shit. The best part about the game was that it looked and played like a 2D doujin game.

I'm actually thinking about trying scriptcraft out. I've played alot of MMOs but never actually tried WoW (yep, and seriously, never). Is it easy to get into game on scriptcraft?
Or is scriptcraft not really good? If not, what's better?

I believe it is European based. I have a level 60 restro druid on there and the only problems I've had were the massive amounts of alliance in the beginning, and them giving you terrible gear outside of a chosen spec (They give you feral gear if you insta 49 druid)

I started Mabinogi and just blazed through the character creation screen not knowing you get a free premium card for your first character. So I just wasted it and my first character just has appearance options selected from the normal stuff.
