Anyone else have no marketable skills at all? I feel depressed and disgusted that even most /jp/ers aren't completely worthless sacks of shit like me. How do you work up the motivation to become fluent in daunting subjects like programming or Japanese?

>> No.8516836

I for one am quite content with being a useless sack of shit.

>> No.8516843

>Programming
Find something about an open source program you use that you aren't too fond of, then go in and figure out how to change it. Repeat until you know what you're doing.

>Japanese
Browse /jp/ until you're frustrated enough with only being able to play meidocre translations of some VNs, then go learn some moon.

Did you not even read the OP? He's talking about the motivation required to learn skills, not tutorials.

I'm in a sort of awkward position where I'm not so stupid I'd be content with cleaning shit out of toilets or joining the Army, but I'm not intelligent or experienced enough to have any qualifications or skills.

Even physical labour is out because I'm weak. Hell, things like washing dishes is out for stupid reasons and I couldn't even work in a call centre because of social anxiety.

I wish I was born in the 1920s or something and got drafted. Then I'd basically be forced to not be a whiny little bitch. Modern society has made this all too easy.

English is a marketable skill in my country.
Otherwise, none, as far as I know.

Grab a good python tutorial and you will understand what I mean.

Everyone ever is aware of this. Every single person reading this post knows they have access to a world of information that, quite easily, would allow them to become the next Einstein or Mozart. You have access to hundreds of times more than what the Library of Alexandria had, and it's all free and easily accessible.
However we're not all shut-in Teslas or Beethovens, and I want you to think about why.

I award myself 1 fap for every hour doing something productive. I have a tally saved.

If I don't do something productive, I don't fap.

Actually
Yes

The only thing that puts me off of it is all the socialization required.

You do realize if you join the military they will train your useless ass into something hopefully less useless? Although if you do bad on the ASVAB (high school knowledge test) you're probably destined to be infantry and that doesn't translate into useful skills after the military. Maybe if you spend the full 20 years you'll at least be able to draw a pension.

Law enforcement has tests and they can and will reject you if you aren't up to physical and mental standards. Not to mention that a lot of police budgets have downsized and there's a lot of expolice better than you who will jump at any opening. It's not a guaranteed job. It's a job with a set number of positions to fill, just like any other.

I don't know where that myth that law enforcement will take anyone came from but it isn't the first time I've seen that suggestion on /jp/.

Note that you will have to pass boot camp. If you fail too many times you get ejected from the military.

I know what you mean. I'm even jealous of those who have had the balls to order a dakimakura.

I have absolutely nothing to be proud of.

I don't deal well with authority or obligation or physical anything. I'll probably cry and shoot myself. Plus I'm uncomfortable around "masculine" people. Particularly if we're naked. I don't want to have to shower with guys talking about the "big game" with their huge cocks while I stand there trying to hide my micropenis with a bar of soap. It'll be like high school all over again...

Yeah, you're doomed. You should look into getting some autism bucks from the government.

Japanese was easy because I was learning from manga and light novels and such. I tried learning programming, but I didn't really have a goal in mind, so I gave up. Basically just find something you want to do. You're on /jp/ so you must have SOME kind of interest in something.

>> No.8517485

My programming ability now is because I started back when I had motivation. There's no way I'm getting a job though, due to my shitty work ethic.
