Ikea stuff is pretty low quality.
The detolf isn't air tight so dust will still go in.
It is also too small. The shelf on the right is bigger and more spacious but since it is not glass all around, it isnt suited for figs. If you have the money, make a custom glass shelf yourself.
Pardon the shitty camera quality, too poor to afford a DSLR.

I agree IKEA stuff is the best quality if your displaying things, i.e. Figures

I've decided that I want to remodel my room into a somewhat Japanese style one.
I've decided that there will be no chairs, I will sit on the floor or on pouffes, I'll have a rollable futon, a super low table, I will wall mount all my monitors and tvs, and storage will hang from the upper walls where they meet the ceiling.
I feel like it would be extremely more conforable than stupid high chairs, tables and I would save so much space with overhead storage and a rollable bed.
I am not sure about what to do with the floor though. Tatami, from my very shallow initial research, seems to be very expensive. Should I tatami all the floor, or just the bed section? I would like everything being tatami, but that's not going to be cheap... I cannot think of any alternatives though.
What does everyone think?

But it would seem weird to have a high desk around when I'm sitting or laying on the floor. I could bump my head into it and it could block light for example. I can do the same things I can in a high table in a low one or directly over the floor. I already spend too much time on a chair+desk at work, I want to take it easy no matter what.
So, does anyone know about tatami?

I think having a good headphone system is vital to a /jp/ lifestyle.

Pic relevant. Listening to theta complex 2 I just downloaded from the C81 upload thread (thanks for uploading it if you're reading this) is pure... I don't know. It's just indescribable.

PC
-> foobar2000 + bauer stereophonic to binaural
-> USB DAC (MIDI interface with a decent DAC)
-> Grasshopper Beta22 headphone amp (3 channel, active ground) + Sigma22 PSU

Once you get to that level, having a source becomes important. I used to have the Benchmark DAC1 (asynchronous USB) before I sold it, and the step-down in quality was very obvious.

If you're still deciding on what headphones to buy, I'd join a headphone/audio community and establish some rep there so you're able to have some liquidity in your assets. I tried about $10000 worth of headphone equipment over 2 years through selling/trading before I settled with what I currently have (except for the temporary DAC), and I couldn't have done it without the Head-fi forums.
