Why are eyepatches so attractive?

Looking for some theories. How could the idea of a girl having less peripheral vision be attractive? Any evolutionary theories?

It even has me watching this shitty anime, just like it had me reading that shitty manga.

I don't know about you but I think that white medical bandages are way more attractive than those black eyepatches. Bandages wrapped around arms, chests, legs, over eyes...

It's not what's shown that attracts you, but what's underneath.

Perfectly symmetrical faces are considered less attractive than faces that bear some asymmetric elements. Eyepatches, presenting easily recognizable asymmetries that is not unsettling in any way, may play off this trend.

Dunno, I don't condemn people for having different fetishes than I have, but I never found bandages attractive.

Don't expect anything revolutionary; I'll just blabber crap from my experience.

Sex in general involves an emotional part. Try out, for example, suddenly fapping to random images of naked girls versus imagining yourself making out and foreplaying for a while (with them at least partly clothed) before you have get to the real deal. The latter is gonna make it a lot more intense, because your emotions have been involved, and because you will likely have encountered thoughts that set your feelings ablaze.

But our emotions are all that hardwired. Our emotions are a respond to the way we construct our views on things. (Why would someone get angry from something whereas another person would find the same thing attractive?) Different people have different thoughts and values, and therefore will respond emotionally to different things differently.

Now speaking for myself, for a long time I had "something" for girls who have low self-esteem and are socially awkward; I felt I wanted to comfort them and make them happy. So imagining that (i.e., imagining them feeling insecure at first before I comfort them and have them unleash their instincts and become fulfilled and happy) was very fulfilling for me. That changed and developed a lot. I can tell you stories all day long about my fetishes.

So... I figure out that people who have bandage fetishes might be, for one reason or another, experiencing some urges to comfort an injured girl and relieve her pain. And they feel fulfilled as a result. Even if they were too tsundere to even internally admit it.

That is, unless they're sadists who feel aroused from torturing or seeing people in pain or agony... But then a mere sex with a mere bandaged girl wouldn't be much of a plausible scenario in their case.

There are two basic foundations of moe - one is gap moe, and the other are flaws that aren't really flaws.
Eyepatches are, most of the time, a really obvious, textbook example of the latter.

I was reading Freud: A Very Short Introduction a few hours ago so I feel fairly qualified to say that everyone ITT is in the `ocular stage' of psychosexual development. It occurs when, as a child, you keep seeing your father eyeing up your mother and you want to fuck his eyes out she's yours.

I dunno, I consider it like a moe or other "beauty mark." Technically an imperfection, but rather adds/contrasts with the existing look, rather than detracting from it.

And there's also the asymmetry involved. Some people like the hair over one eye look, so it's not that much different. Not to mention the badassery associated with eye patches.

Because the girl is weaker, and her ability to dodge your rape-attacks is lessened greatly.

so, for evolutionary theories, anything that makes a woman easier to fuck against her will is advantageous for the species at large.

I agree with this guy. Unique attributes can create attraction in order to expand the gene pool. My other thought is that it's proof of survival. Scars, eye patches, and the like can be proof of tough mate, literally a survivor.

>> No.8501492

Does anyone here wear an eye patch, or has?
I was supposed to wear a patch over my dominant eye to make the weaker eye better, but I forgot about the optometrist for ten years so it was kind of too late.

I think I'd like the idea of wearing one just because. I often sit and cover my dominant eye and it's kind of fun trying to read things with my weak eye. I'm not sure if it's healthy though. Plus on the rare occasions I go outside, I might look stupid if I wear an eye patch.

>> No.8501507

I was supposed to do this as a kid, but I had a special rubber thingamajig that sticked to the inside of my glasses' lens.
Problem is, my weaker eye is so bad that I'm basically half-blind, so I always skipped this because I wanted to read or draw or do anything that required good vision.
Oh well.
