Can anyone recommend me a good but not too expensive stand-alone scanner so I can scan some books for /jp/? I just got a huge shipment in and I need something that works fast. The previous scanner I used was a pain to use because it cropped part of the image whenever I aligned it to the bottom or top left of the boarders, so it was a bit difficult getting it to scan the pages perfectly straight since I could only line it up without letting it touch any corners. That, and I had to actually ghetto rig a piece of black cardboard to the top so that the back of the pages wouldn't bleed through and look like ghost image. Anyway, recommendations are appreciated, especially from other people with experience in scanning.

Just want to say that I wish I could help you, but unfortunately don't know a lot about scanners. Also if asking here fails you may want to try /g/ instead.

Why don't you ask a scanlator in one of the multiple scanlation sites that translate /jp/ stuff? I bet they know what's the best out there.
