What are your favorite Touhou song titles? Not the actual songs, just the titles.

Personally, I'm fond of Heartfelt Fancy and Tomorrow will be Special, Yesterday was Not. They have a nice ring to them.

>> No.8436284

I remember a thread about this a while ago. ZUN is silly with song titles. Like you read titles like The Unnatural Phantasm of Papercraft Clockwork and it literally means that, even in nipponese.

ZUN is a crazy man.

The song titles can be fun.

I still wonder what "True Administrator" is supposed to mean. Maybe its the frantic feeling in your head when you have to deal with people in important positions.

Not that I really like the song title, but it has so little to do with anything going on at the time that I like it.

...Refined, bossy and malevolent vampire, owner of her own mansion. Dainty and Elegant girl, Queen of the night, OJOU-SAMA!

Well, "Extend Ash ~ Hourai Victim" has a catchy name.. It kinda says: "This is where the unfortunate girl resides" at least I think so..

Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke. There's just something really cool about the title. It embodies the coolest character in the series very well.

"Onigashima in the fairyland ~ Missing power".
While I find Yuugi's theme better from a pure musical standpoint, both the name and music of Suika's theme give off a feeling of both the primal frightful and absurdly comedic aspects of oni.

>>8436362

Hiroari shoots a strange bird, which turns out not to be a bird at all, but a nue. The nue calls out "how long" which Hiroari misinterprets as "til when".
Can't remember "how long" until what, though. Supposedly the nue predicts the death of someone in the house.

Hiroari Shoots a Strange Bird ~ Till When?
might be my number one favorite. Is just love the imagery the words create in my head.

Other than that, I love the short and to-the-point titles, especially when they include names.

Mary The Magician
Captain Murasa
Alice in Wonderland

Maybe they're not that special on their own, but next to a big majority of elaborate titles, they really stand out. And in the context too, it comes down too saying a lot of things with very few words.

Master Spark is only cool in the fighting games. In danmaku games, Stardust Reverie and Blazing Star are better looking. And the name Love colored Magic is more mysterious than Master Spark. Not to mention, Vessel of Stars ~ Casket of Stars title is more awesome than both Love colored titles.
