I sometimes imagine a grimdark world for Idolmaster.

The Producer, after long, hard years of training and guiding these girls, has to let them go, so they have a chance of stardom at the hands of better show businessmen. Sometimes, he hears of them breaking down and quitting. Others, commiting suicide or scandals that seemed unthinkable of them. A chosen few actually manage to achieve their dreams, but become a hollow shell of their former selves.

And then, he remembers them, as the bright, talented young girls they once were.
