All we see on /jp/ these days are people bitching about awful metathreads. But let's look at it in another way: Instead of creating awful meta-meta threads, people could be out there creating good ones. The question is, why don't people? I'm sure at least one person out there could put up a good metathread once in a while. The ones about moot or Jones and crew at /bun/ or the archives are usually good. We CAN make /jp/ a better place. It's just really a question of WHEN we will.
