I'm working on it. I can't get that good that fast. Anyway, I suggest you change your deck to the one I have. It's considerably better than the shit she normally has.
Also, that 236c combo does work fullscreen. A lot. That bullet has massive priority.

Of course it works full screen. The further away your opponent is, the larger a window of error you have to juggle them.

But who is going to sit there and get hit by it in the first place? The bullet has massive priority but that means nothing when it's so easily grazed.

It's not that people have problems using Reisen. It's that pretty much any other character controlled by someone with equal skill will assrape her. Terrible at long range, low damage with anything that's not a chained 236, significant delay before and after most of her moves. That's why she's considered gutter tier.

Her hadouken bullets work best when you interrupt your opponent's mid-air bullet spam. Just like playing as Yukari, or anyone else with a high-priority projectile. Reisen's optic blast is nice too, since it eats up everything.

Reisen is terrible at melee though. She wouldn't be low tier if she actually had any worthwhile normal melee moves. Her 6A is just pathetic.

But still, she's a fun character. Keep away/long range game is all she really has. If you're playing to win then don't bother. In that case, just use Yukari, Reimu, or Aya.

asdf is better than you and I combines, and it 'works' on him. Shooting missles in itself isn't the point, it's what they do during such that matters. Players can't graze forever, and they aren't in a permanent graze state everytime they take to the air.

I appreciate the sentiment, but I don't see how, given how little of a challenge I am.

My problem is that I played MvC2 (casually, but I played) for years before I touched Touhou, and I am of the mindset that holding back will block, no questions asked. SWR does not function that way in the slightest, even ignoring rightblocking vs. wrongblocking. I take far too much damage by back jumping and expecting to block whatever melee attack that comes in from the ground, then being surprised that it hit me even though I was holding back and probably trying it again in confusion to get the same result.

>> No.843288

>>843269

Which is why I started simply forward dashing to graze. Flying doesn't solve every problem.

Magister will likely simply fly all the way over your head and cross you up while you're in the firing animation. That or he'll land early and use one of Reimu's grazing melee attacks.

>> No.843293

>>843278
You can't block until a quite a few frames after you leave the ground, and you can't airblock melee attacks from a character that's on the ground.
You're not as bad as you say you are. Those matches were not easy at all. Be more aggressive; from those that I've played thus far, Reisen works a lot better on the offensive.

>> No.843298

All that aside, missile spam wasn't what beat me. How many times did you actually land that three-missile combo, anyway?

You beat me by guessing what I'd do correctly far more often than I guessed what you were going to do correctly and by out-timing me in close melee, both of which are independent of the character you were using.

Ah, you have this same problem, then. I was an active MvC2 player as well; not a tourneyfag, but at the least a very high level casual. This is the reason I still have ridiculous aggression where it usually isn't meant to be applied. I also tend to do a jumping block JUST as an oncoming ground attack reaches me, so I eat it good. At least I can do long/complicated strings repeatedly easily because of it. I'm starting to make more use of poking at opponents into doing something foolish to punish as opposed to forcing them into failed escapes from strings.

You mean Dash alt. after the X-Slash, or the 623B after the Dash alt? If it's the first, then I've been doing that for a while. Probably the closest I can get to a guard break with Youmu (X-Slash > 5B > 214Dash = 4.5 - Crush). If you mean the second, then that was improvised on the spot. I just went into practice, and I can't chain it for shit, but what surprised me more was how quickly you picked up on it and countered with Dash > 623C. But seriously, watch your opponent carefully during a match rather than trying to "take the offensive". If they are just average players, chances are they only know 1 mode of attack. GGs, Karateexplosion.

I still don't know the properties of half of Sakuya's moves. I didn't think a counter hit 66C would send you flying like that, so that Sakuya no Sekai got botched. Sakuya can also supposedly pour the pressure on like Reimu and Chiquita, but the spirit drain seems faster. A lot faster. I think I have a good balance of offense and defense going with her, though.

Also, Sakuya no Sekai is such a fucking good card. I think out of the 20+ times I used it, I failed to knock you out only three or four times. The five card cost is steep, but for guaranteed damage, it's worth every damn card.

I have the same problem. What you have to do is port forward your router so you can have a Port open to Host with. Of course, not everyone can do this, so it's a pain for us. That's why there aren't as many Hosts as there are people who want to play.
