Haha, I used to play that shit when I was 13. Had a great time.
All I did was mining and smithing though, got a lot of gold off of it, but didn't bother with anything else so it got old after a while.

Friend of mine still plays it and makes actual money off of it by selling in-game gold. Plays one hour every two days and makes about 80 a week.

I play from year 2004 also and what I mean is that now getting xp is easier than ever. For example, I got agility 99 when it was 40k xp/hour. Now it's 70k. How should I feel about it? Now getting 99 means nothing. And you should think about all the bots that got 99 agility and weren't banned, because Jagex would lose money if they did. I really don't appreciate bonus xp weekends myself, but i took advantage of the last one to gain whooping 10 levels in herblore, since it would be there even if i didn't want it anwyay....

nowadays most profitable activities aren't very afkable, mostly because bots are gone... I don't know very good ways to make money myself since I usually go through the longest money making routes in order to make good xp in the process too... I know that hunting red chinchompas is giving great money, but isn't afkable and smithing bars is also profitable and somewhat afkable, you can buy the ores, smelt the bars and sell for a profit. the better the ores/bars the larger the profit.
