To be honest, the difficulty of combos shouldn't stop you from playing a character (to a certain extent). A few hours of grinding should be enough for you to get any BnB down, just persevere through and you'll do it. Combos aren't really the hard part of fighting games.

Anyway,
Half's current ghetto bnb would be something like
2a 2b 5c 6aaa 2c 236a jb jc jb jc air throw

Crescent I haven't touched and I don't see anything on Melty Bread yet so go look at some match videos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeHuyA9unYU#t=6m28s seems to be her main bnb, I assume you just don't do the special if you don't have 100%

Likewise for full, check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7hZu0Yaey0#t=0m09s

As for which one you should play, watch some match videos and dick around with all 3 moons in training mode a little to see which one you like the most (mostly the playstyle and how much you like the normals/specials).

Maybe someone else with actual Hime experience can help you more than that, I'm not at a computer with MBAACC installed currently so I can't go in training mode.

Well, the reason for me not playing characters due to combo complexity is because I tend to be prone to dropping combos even after grinding them in training. When I play against other people I either miss the timing or miss the spacing. I usually have to rely on other ways to win, but now that I see that match I guess her combos aren't supposed to do that much damage.

I posted this in the other thread, but I didn't realize it was in autosage, so...

If anyone in the South American region would like to play, specifically in Brazil, I can host at anytime now.

I can't seem to connect to anyone correctly. Maybe because I live in the ass of the world and have horrible ping to anyone for the netplay tool in MBAACC tailored for Japanese Gigabit internets, or maybe because my PC (laptop) plain sucks.

I tested with a friend that said it ran fine if I alt-tabbed out of the game, but while playing it paused, then ran, then paused... 100% CPU usage. The odd thing is that the game runs smooth all the time in Single Player, so no idea... and yes, been running in 640 x 480 all the time.

It's okay, I played MBAC for like 2 years, we all start somewhere.

Don't forget you can heat to regain HP when you're in MAX as a full-moon character, or circuit break to break out of a combo.

Also, I'm not sure if that's what happened or you if you were just trying to hit me with a random special, but at the end of one round I think you tried to chip me out. Chip death doesn't exist in Melty.

For character specific information, generally you don't want to jump too much at FRyougi because she has like 10 air unblockables. You also shouldn't air tech most of the time against her because that's usually a reset and you'll get hit by one of her air unblockable.

For your playstyle, try getting your combos down. You did a big one once so I see you at least know them, but you should really try to get them down at least 90% of the time in practice mode (ideally 99.9%).

Sorry if you knew any of this and I sound like a jerk, it's not my intention, just trying to help.

I've never really been interested in fighters, but Melty Blood has some interesting characters unlike every other fighter. How should I go about learning this game?

Care to give me a download link? Also, is this new Actress Again like an expansion or a whole new game? Should I start with this one or the original Melty Blood? Sorry for asking to be spoonfed.

For story, sure. For gameplay, just play whatever is most recent.

Basic combos for everyone are ground combo>launcher>air combo. Most launchers you're going to use are going to be trip>lift. So something like 2C5C launches for most characters. Some characters have 3Bs or 3Cs or 4Bs that launch. Some launch with specials. Most specials are 236, 623, 22, 214, 421, plus a button. Charging a move usually makes it better for you when it's blocked, but obviously worse if they attack you while you're charging. Also, those numbers are directions like how they are in your numpad. So 2 is down, 8 is up, 6 is forward, etc. 5 is neutral, as in no direction pressed. If you've never played Melty before, I'd recommend Half Moon characters, 'cause they're a lot easier to learn. A lot of Crescent characters can do something like 5B2B2C5Cj.BCj.BC Airthrow. I think Full Moon can do 5B2C5C Special j.Cj.BC air throw. Half usually can do 5BCA6AA Special j.BCj.BC Airthrow. That said, Melty is not about combos at all. Everyone can do combos. It's all blockstrings and footsies. I'm terrible at this game, though, so don't take my advice.

Graphic card? If your GPU has poor shader support (as in it's 10 years old) it probably wouldn't work.

Thanks for all the awesome matches, Reed_Warbler, it was plenty of fun. I'm only quitting because my stomach's been bothering me for a while.

I wish you could have seen my smile the moment you picked Neko Arc, and during all the matches that followed.

GG, I still had a lot of bad habits from AC and bunker cancelling seems to work randomly. Neko matches were fun, surprisingly Neko Arc was more threatening to you than my Nanaya.
Btw I had an irresistable urge to piss in the past half an hour and I was at my limit too, so good calling.

Alright, I'm back. I know I said I'd upgrade my connection by today, but seems that will have to wait until tomorrow. I got this on a wired connection now though since I think most of the suck last time was due to wireless, so if you're around use the same info from >>8326852 , I'll keep the game on.
