I have a bad back thanks to a car accident, and my Chiropractor had me work out a little as part of therapy. I hated it, so boring. He asked how I stay so fit, though, which made me realize doctors are lying fucks. I have no muscle, I can't lift objects heavier than big books without some effort. Why would you say that? Its like asking a fat person how they get so thin.

Its sad, though, because body-building runs in my family.

Let me help you then.
First step first, diet.
Diet is the most important thing.
Calculate your BMR, and eat the same amount in calories (or eat 500 less calories if you want to lose weight very fast/won't exercise)
Make sure you eat enough veggies and proteins.

Second step, cardio. Make sure it involves LEGS. You can't lose weight in particular area by exercising it, it's false. The most efficient cardio exercises involve leg.
If you want to play around even more after your cardio, read convict conditioning. It'll give you basic bodyweight exercises.
You can lift too if you want. But whatever. Remember that Diet is the most important thing.
BTW, don't listen to /fit/.

Sorry my TL;DR post has been eaten by 4chan's maintenance.
To make it short, I don't know atkins but here are some basic :
Eat veggies (green ones are god tier) and eat enough meat/fish (the ones that has good proteins and low fat, a good choice with low fat is chicken breasts, tuna...)
Avoid sugar and fat shit, don't take too much carb, don't eat too much fruits.
Avoid alcohol and soda, don't drink too much juice/milk. Water is god-tier.
(drinking a lot of water can help you when you are starving by the way)

You should eat your BMR in calories or less(calculate it),
If you don't do ton of cardio and/or want to lose a lot of fat, eat your BMR-500
BUT, important part here :
For a man, you shouldn't go lower than 1200 calories, really (in fact, it's supposed to be around 1500 for a man).
2 kg a week is more than enough, don't aim for lower than that except if you really are FAT FAT FAT.
But seriously, if you are new to this, stay at 1500 calories and lose max 2kg per week first.
Try to have around the same amount of calories per day, but take into account how much you will exercise.

I'm not an expert so feel free to check what I said, you can read /fit/'s sticky or whatever.
But beware, for /fit/ a good body is a huge body. Don't listen to them if they want you to bulk and lift right away.
Concentrate on cutting, and use cardio + bodyweight exercises(convict conditioning for instance)/lifting as tools for that.

>Doesn't really matter what you eat.
Well, basically the calories you burn have to be more than you ingest, that's the only important thing about losing weight.

But, your body need various thing like proteins for muscles and such, fibre, vitamins etc.
Of course you can eat what you want, but you should consider eating the main things your body needs first.

And then it depends of how much calories you already ate, and how much you are willing to do some cardio.

I started exercising back in August. There is a high school track, 1/4 mile, just across the street from my house.

Late at night, between midnight and 3 I go over there and talk a mile. I started with 1 mile until my legs got used to it. Now I have started rotating squats and pushups. I hurt my leg doing squats and maxed out at 5 sets of 20, I wish it would heal faster. Currently I still do pushups, I am up to 5 sets of 10.

I absolutely love it. Its always deserted and dark, no potholes, completely fenced in so no dogs. Hardly any trees, so I can see the sky for miles around. Its the most perfect place a person like me could hope for.

Legit /jp/ /fit/ headphone /g/uru reporting in. I own a $4000 headphone rig, $600 worth of Saber figs alone, and my lifting stats are:

squat: 315
clean: 225
deadlift: 365
bench: 235
military press: 155

I go to a 24 hour gym at 3 AM, 4 days a week. I spend $6 on food, getting about 200g of proteins from beans, canned tuna, occasional chicken, and protein powder.

Motivation: Motivation for sedentary individuals is the hardest in the first month. You seriously won't look any different from working you ass off in the first month. You really need to stick to a program and write down your progress, so you actually have a real, tangible method of measuring progress.

My motivation came from my muscular husbando Sabre. He's not impressed by scrawny "gotta have abs" faggots like Shirou.

Diet: Don't be the dumbass who goes on a caloric deficit without any muscle. It is much easier to lose weight if you already have substantial muscle mass. Eat a lot of whole foods if you're going to build muscle.

Proteins: Make sure you get a good amount of proteins. I suggest about 150 - 180g of proteins if you're just starting out. Drinking a protein shake in the morning will help you feel satiated for a long time. Good protein sources include dairy products, tuna, chicken, beef, lean pork, and fish. You can use vegetable protein sources like beans, long beans and lentils to supplement your protein intake. The reason why you only want to supplement your protein intake with vegetables is because they have bad amino profiles which is not beneficial to muscle growth. While there is no study that says exactly how much beans you should eat, I personally aim for 80% animal proteins and 20% vegetable proteins.

Protein powders are very cheap for $/g protein. I suggest you buy from Costco ($40 / 4.4 lbs) or an online source. Don't buy expensive shit that costs $80 for 2 lbs because it's all fluff. Again, it should be only used as a supplement. I get about 60g of proteins from powders, daily.

Carbs/fat: You absolutely need fat, and carbs are cheap sources of calories. White rice and beans are cheap, and they go well with any food, any cuisine. You can get fats from dairy products and meats.

Losing weight: Don't worry about losing weight because it's more frustrating than lifting heavier weights. Once you're squatting 2plate, you can probably adjust your diet to fit your goals. If you're a crazyfuck, read these books: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/

If you're going to cut back on calories, the first thing you should take out are carbs.

Going to the gym: Go to a 24H gym when nobody's around so you're not afraid to make stupid mistakes in front of people. It's all part of the learning process. Don't buy PTs. Do buy sessions with weightlifting coaches if you think your form is shit.

Exercise programs: read the /fit/ sticky. Don't listen to /fit/. As long as your program has these things:

- 2 compound barbell lifts everyday
- progression that makes sense
- equal volume of pulling exercises as pushing exercises

it should be okay

>>8307758

Cutting agents: Clenbuterol, DNP, all of this shit is available online. They'll make your lift easier as far as losing fat goes.

Steroids: I suggest you don't start doing steroids. Many steroids lose their effect once you stop taking it for some time. Sure, you might take 2 cycles of anavar and gain 10 lbs of lean mass as babby's first cycle. Then you're going to want more, and start doing heavier shit like tren. Te gains you get from this stuff does not keep, you're going to have to keep injecting year round to maintain your mass.

>>8307810

Don't be like him. Strength gains from the first 2 months of a program like Starting Strength is NOT from muscle gain. It's from adapting to physical activity. You can take a sedentary individual and have him do track for 2 months, and he would have a higher bench press than he did before he started exercising.

Your problem is not eating enough. It's lack of consistency. You need to stick to a program for more than 2 months if you want to see any gains. If you can't work out in the gym, I suggest you at least buy a pullup bar and do chinups 3x a week at home.

I love the OHP, and I'm glad if I can make a 5lb gain every 3 weeks. You're a beginner, so you should be able to make a 5lb gain every week on your OHP.

>> No.8307843

>>8307810

also, another thing

Don't kill yourself everytime you step into the gym. The best gains are made when you leave a little bit of gas in the tank. If you think you won't be able to do all 5 reps, do 4 reps and call it a day. Drop the weight a few pounds next time, and don't go increasing the weight until you hit all 5 reps.

If you're serious into weightlifting and you need some motivation, I highly suggest you buy the 5/3/1 second edition ebook. While the 5/3/1 program itself is for intermediate lifters, it has plenty of tangent info that can be applied to beginners.

- Lifting is a lifelong pursuit, don't be mad because you can't squat 225 lbs after 5 months of squatting. Making SOME progress, however small they may be, is the important thing.
- Conditioning is just as important as lifting weights in the gym. Being a fatass powerlifter who can squat 600 lbs doesn't mean shit unless you enjoy being out of breath all the time.
- THINK LONG TERM
