The sex scene in Chie's route is actually more intimate and more emotional than anything they could have replaced it with it really reminded me of what a first time is actually like and it's probably one of the best written parts of the story as a whole.

For the other routes, not really. Kirari's best part is a kiss that is just a really romantic kind of out of nowhere act.

Sarina... felt lacking as a whole. It just wasn't a great route. Lacked the power of other routes.

There is one part of the story that could be (and was) accomplished without ero scenes but was heavily dependent on sex, so it would be odd without it.
