Why did I play this? More like why does this get consistently good ratings. Boring as fuck.

In all seriousness it's probably this. It's a romance game about cute girls so if you found it boring it's most likely because you aren't heterosexual.

Nah, it's just that there's no theme/plot. It's more like a dating sim than anything. Lacks substance and is very average.

Truth is, all 15 VNs I've played since SnU and FSN have been letdowns. Maybe I'm burning out.

He's probably still in the first chapter, second chapter at best. I doubt he's even seen the OP yet. Though I will admit The First Tale wasn't anything amazing.

Play Inganock.

I did. Interesting setting and characters. Especially resonated with me because I'm in medical school. However, very repetitive and lost steam towards the end. Good overall, but something you look back on as more enjoyable than when you actually play it.

For me it was worth it because of the climax at Bandersnatch. The parts after that were worthless, but I still think it's a good game because of the first parts.

What about swan song?

Yep, here's a list:

swan song
fate/stay night
saya no uta
sekien no inganock
g-senjou no maou
sharin no kuni, himawari no shoujo + FD
yume miru kusuri
wanko to kurasou
both of the vocaloid translated VNs
planetarian
a profile
ef - a fairy tale of the two

Of these, Saya and FSN were my favorites. Inganock and SS were second tier. Everything else was either average or in A Profile and EFs case, bad.

Honestly I don't see the point of spending 20 hours reading something with cute girls and very little substance. I can watch anime. God knows there's a ton of moe anime.

No wonder.

You might enjoy Sharnoth. Personally I thought it had good themes to begin with and most of it was very atmospheric, but the entire thing felt a bit immature. Still, you might like it, and you definitely will enjoy it more than those.

Also, Tsukihime. Though it's not as good as f/sn in some areas, it's got strengths of it's own.

Also, you *may* enjoy ever17. Takeshi's routes were pretty good in my opinion. Kid's were decent, ruined by the final route. Opinions may differ, of course...

There's also symphonic rain, which was interesting, but didn't seem to have much purpose other than making the readers feel emotions for no reason.

There's cross channel but I find it wasn't much more than "entertaining", except for a few parts. Might be worth checking though.

Also, ML unlimited wasn't horrible.

Oh, Animamundi is alright. I never finished all the routes but it was enjoyable as far as I went. You'll probably need a walkthrough.

If you think most of those have very little substance (a few of those really don't) then eroge might not be the medium for you. Especially if you're trying to get the same things out of it as anime.

>> No.8224718

Go read Aoi Shiro.

>> No.8224783

>>8224690
Ah, yes cross channel, I forgot. I have played that and really enjoyed it.

Sharnoth is on my backlog (next?) and I was sort of hoping Type Moon would get their asses in gear and work on the Tsukihime remake so I don't have to deal with that art.

That game was great but their taste in cooking baffled me. What the fuck, they had eggplants for breakfast. Where's the tea, eggs, olives, cheese and bread? If I was an onikiri I'd cut down the whole lot of them that instant for being demons in disguise, and I wouldn't be in the wrong because half of cast really were. No human would eat eggplants for breakfast.

Eggplants can be prepared in a variety of ways, some of them perfectly suitable for breakfast.
What the fuck are you on about.
