At first I cared about stupid things like sageing every single one of my posts, reporting every single off-topic thread and defending the ideals of my perfect /jp/.

I've been here long enough not to give a fuck anymore.
Now I can see how stupid that was.

You ask me why I changed? I don't know, but it certainly wasn't because I started to show negligence to /jp/.

/jp/ is not your blog.

apparently you haven't stoppped making shitty meta-threads.

Signs of new /jp/ denizens:

-Appears constantly irritated, sometimes even enraged
-Never posts without using sage
-Feels the need to police the board
-Will spam board redirects to anyone who disagrees with or irritates them
-Complains about greentext, image macros, and other standard image board fare
-Tends to overuse the terms "summer", "shitpost(er)", "newfag", and "samefag"
-On that note, they will almost invariably call two people who disagree with them "samefag"
-All in all, treats /jp/ as if it's a secret club that only they belong to

Most oldfags come to some realization that giving a fuck is pointless. However, most times they just fade out or stay in their favorite threads. Then you get retards like zunbar who figure its an excuse to shit everywhere.

I've been on /jp/ on and off since the split, and I've always noticed some level of off-topic, /b/, or "shitposting," but never at the level it is now, where it's 3/4ths of the board. When exactly did it get this bad, after that one janitor quit?

Yes, it's always been here but never like this and it is newfriends who somehow showed up here. It really is killing the board now. I loved /jp/ a couple of years ago but if it stays like it has been for the last few days especially it should be deleted.

WELL ANYWAYS, I enjoy the few humorous /b/ threads here. If you'd take all the off-topic away there'd only be the Touhou, VNs, and the Ona-hole threads. Also the /jp/ TRU-NEET BRIGADE.

Actually, I was really entertained by the occasional shit threads that had the first twenty responses like perfect carbon-copies, "Reported."

Also when the OP's would become so annoyed by it that they'd go on trolling rampages sometimes lasting a week in lieu of yRan.

This, only I've been here since early 2010. This board was full of scholars and gentlemen, no normalfags in sight. Summer 2010 went by without complications. Winter and Spring were bearable too. However, this summer was the breakdown.

I found it amusing too. I miss those times.

Those occasional shit threads were OK, the NEET generals and all that. Even the spam (that was still terrible spam) felt kind of better. The spammers now seem like kids who think 4chan is about repeating memes over and over and have migrated from /b/ to /v/ to here within a few weeks.

>This board was full of scholars and gentlemen, no normalfags in sight.
Okay, now you're trying too hard.

>> No.8218871

I only came here last year so I'm no expert, but I liked when /jp/ was a little more serious. When I first came here I didn't really lurk for very long and made a very stupid thread. People basically pointed out that I was a moron and needed to lurk more, but not in a, "fuck u fgt SAGE REPORTED!!!" kind of way. Of course I could have just typed "lol bump xD" and shitposted and whatever, but the general vibe I got was that I did need to lurk more before I understood /jp/ and its culture. So that I did, and now I think I'm a reasonable poster here.
Now I feel like if there was a thread like that, people would just argue. Someone would tell the OP to lurk more, then someone else would announce they reported it, then someone would post >>8218613, then someone would ironically greentext, then someone would complain, then someone would try to act "mature" by saying X Y Z is okay, etc. Threads now seem to be meta-clusterfucks. I like when /jp/ was elitist and seemed to agree on certain principles as a collective. I'd say the easymodo guidelines are a good start, but people even complain about them.

I don't know. Just my two cents. Of course I still think we should have fun and take it easy.

Also, there are some pretty delusional people in this thread.

Say what you want, but /jp/ kept me from opening a portal for 3 years. It's normal that I don't want to accept it's turned to utter shit. Isn't there any hope?

>no normalfags in sight
I've always had trouble with that term, TRU-NEET people seem to use it to hate against everything even midly successful while some of the more less-zealous users just use it over people who are generally close-minded, regular assholes. When it's used in a relatively neutral context like this it's easy to confuse the definition they're referring to.

And honestly, I haven't noticed an OVERWHELMING drop in quality since fall-2010, sure, meido was great and seeing half of the pages obliterated gave this place a unique and interesting feel to it, but I haven't noticed much more shit threads, just a bit less old-/jp/ culture-threads. Like 2AM-Flan(is that guy still posting?), threads with topics referring to 2ch, japanesebirdmakingspaghetti, classic tripfags.

Posted this in other similar threads but this happens to all boards.
I'm on 4chan since 2005/2006 (don't remember that well) I could see these things:

/b/ - Well we all now what happened to it. Now its on /soc/'s Level.
/d/ - Was full of scat and horse dick, then the mods started banning this kind of stuff. Now its full of dickgirls and femdom + "how do I get my girlfriend to dominate me" threads.
/v/ - Not sure if it was ever truly about vidya, but it too became pretty shitty. There was a time when people rightfully used to flame on Steam there. Today I saw a thread about somebody who got his account banned out of nowhere and people still defending Steam.
Also have been seeing a survey and most people voted with 17-18 age.
/int/ - Never as good as krautchan's /int/ but nowadays its only purpose is trolling it seems. At least thats what I use it for.
/jp/ - Was full of people that got tired of /b/, /v/ and other boards. In short people that are here too long already.
Was always kinda elitist and you got feel that people were pretty bitter, but they still helped you out if you had a question.
Now its seems people flame here just to fit in.

Also threads like these keep popping up in other boards too.
And suprisingly there are always people posting how shitty the place went, but they are still here, like myself.

Kinda funny.
Sorry for my spelling, its pretty late here.

The additional rule is that whenever you reference the rules you have to clarify that they are a stupid set of rules made by a retarded spamming tripfag, but they're better than nothing. /jp/ isn't allowed to acknowledge that anything about it is not shit.
