I really miss the old ZUN trumpets.
While some other people say that they hurt their ears, I always loved them and it makes me sad that they nearly disappeared. They were the main trademark of all his songs, now they are replaced by some techno beats.

I don't understand the whole Desire Drive hype though, it's nothing outstanding in my opinion. I still think that his TD songs aren't even nearly comparable to his older tracks, but if I must choose one, I'd take Rigid Paradise. It's by far the most memorable one in the whole game.

Desire drive isn't better than the stage 3 or stage 6 music, though. Opinion

I really liked those. And Mamizou's theme. The rest didn't stand out to me at first, but they've all come to grow on me. The stage one theme in particular kinda bummed me out when I first heard it, but I really like this version and the original edge it's way in too. Definitely sets a mood.

I really like TD songs in general. Unlike other touhou games though where most of the music grabs you the first time you play it with a THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME vibe, this took a while for me to realize how much I really liked those themes.

Desire Drive is also my favorite. It deserves the title of best, though True Admin. comes close for me.

I don't think Innocent Treasures and Mami's theme are that similar, really. Sure, the melody of the latter evokes the former's intro, but otherwise they don't sound like each other at all.

It's still immediately recognizable as ZUN's composition, though. If there's anything in TD that isn't, it's Let's Live in a Lovely Cemetery. (And some of the spirit world versions, but that's to be expected, I guess.)
