The way I see, shit went down between the adults, leading to the massacre. Kyrie and Rudolf were involved. Eva was most definitely involved. Battler played a minor role. Maybe even Yasu, who probably tried to commit suicide afterwards by jumping off the boat. I doubt he died though. If Battler could survive, so could the star of the crying game.

When it comes to the culprits in the meta-world/fanfiction mysteries, the culprits are witches. Battler's just an idiot in denial.
