How does the naming and tagging of songs work? The FAQ explained about problems with tags getting mixed and about where your sounds goes, but just that; so I figured out I'd be able to mess with those after the upload, since the upload page only had the place to do so.

However, uploading something just names it with numbers and apparently adds automatic tags. Is it some way to edit it, or I started things the wrong way in the first place?

I'm new to this, to the point that I don't even know how should I research about this specific situation. Sorry.

The "Automatic tag" checkbox simply does what it says on the tin.

"Checking this box runs the automated script that attempts to convert your tags into ID3v2.4 UTF-8 format, which is required for non-unicode tags to display properly on the site."

Aka it changes the language encoding of the tags to something SAM (the broadcast software) recognizes.

If you upload incorrect tags, they still remain, only their encoding changes
