I finally got around to trying Ten Desires today, and I was wondering, what is it that happens when you die?
You keep flying and shooting, and a timer ticks down? What is all that?

Yea, what's with her, she's a zombie that is mind controlled by a piece of paper on her forehead?

>> No.8132061

Yoshika for three!

>> No.8132066

That's this game's gimmick, the spirits you collect add to that ghost bar in the bottom left, and when you die it slowly depletes while you get increased firepower and a few other bonuses. You can also manually activate that (without the dying part) by filling it to the maximum (3 ghosts) and pressing C.

Oh, very cool.
Thank you!

See that meter in the bottom left? That's your spirit gauge, and it fuels that super mode. You fill it up by collecting spirits, and use it automatically when you die or when you hit...uh...S, I think. Or was it V?
While your in this spirit trance, you're invincible, have a very strong shot, and gain double the spirits. That last bit is the important part; you should time your trances carefully to parts of the stage/boss with the most bomb/life spirits.

Jiang shi, go readup on that and enjoy your Chinese hopping zombies.

Touhou is getting silly and running out of ideas, like Pokémon. This is why ZUN really should have quit after SA (or even IN), and left the rest to the fanbase.

>> No.8132084

>>8132066
Wait, they kept in the "have to be maxed" clause for manual activation? I thought that was just in the demo.

>> No.8132107

>>8132084
I don't know why ZUN kept it like that. Popping trance one bar at a time and/or using multiple bars for multipliers would have given the game more depth than it does right now.

He should have ripped Crimzon Clover off a bit better.

Oh, god damn it, he did.
So no death bombing 90% of the time?

I see nothing silly about a Jiang shi.

You can death-bomb with full trance in the full version. That's the one thing he changed from the demo.

Death bombing got somehow fixed, actually.
And speaking of TD, high score replays of it are simply hilarious. BOMB BOMB BOMB TRANCE BOMB BOMB BOMB TRANCE

Now I just need to sort these girls into folders and all will be well.

I don't want to start my own thread, so I'll ask here.
Where would you put this game, difficulty wise, compared to the last few? SA & UFO.

>> No.8132246

>>8132240
It's easy. Really easy.
Like PCB easy.

>> No.8132265

>>8132246
well, to be fair, you have much less resources, even when you're good at grabbin' spirits

>> No.8132282

>>8132265
On Normal the bosses are cake-walk. Within my first few plays of TD I was no-deathing the last two stages consistently. And that was without the Bomb-Trance spamming.

>> No.8132342

>>8132265
This is true.
