Ok just learned the whole Hiragana bullshit thing and it was a fun yet easy ride. Katakana it's the same bullshit all over again, will memorize it in a day or two.

But who in their right mind would be able to learn the 2000+ motherfucking shit cunt stainless steel rusty gay ass Kanji?

Is there an easy way to learn it?

>> No.8124762

Don't be a lazy cunt, a billion japanese people know kanji.

>> No.8124764

Just start and keep at it steadily.

I'm studying Chinese, and skritter.com does wonders for me, I know they do Japanese too. Totally worth the 10 bucks a month if you actually use it. I've heard lots of mention of Heisig's Remembering the Kanji, but haven't tried it. I've heard textfugu.com teaches in an interesting way, but again, don't really study Japanese...try a bunch of things and see what sticks.

>> No.8124772

Yes. Let me teach you the sagely /jp/ way of the kanji:

1. Start learning kanji

2. Realize that you will never be able to read seinen level LN/VNs without furigana because there is just too much shit to learn.

3. >How come the fucking japs can't standardize their shit
>2011 using hanzi
>laughing chinks.jpg

There you go.

I am in the middle of Genki II right now. Theses are the things that accelerated my learning of kanji when I started using them:
1. Remembering The Kanji
2. Learning readings of kanji together with learning vocabulary. The kanji remind you of the word and the word reminds you of the kanji.
3. Attempting to read Japanese text all the time
4. Flash cards
5. Using a pocket PC to practice writing and looking up kanji in Kanjidic and words in Edict. JWPce on Windows (or Wine) also gives you access to Kanjidic and Edict.
6. jisho.org example sentences in Firefox with Rikaichan (which again lets you look up words in Kanjidic and Edict)
7. kanji poster (google it) and kanji wallpaper so I have to see the kanji all the time

You can make it easy. You can't change the fact that you learn any language your entire life and you can't make it take up no time. It's an every day thing.

>skritter.com

Looks cool but provides no paypal or google checkout AND will charge every month until my card will be destroyed or I explicitly click on unsubscribe.

I dunno about you guys, but I'm not ok with that.

>> No.8126120

Since I'm a visual learner, my favorite method is coming up with a picture in my head to relate to the meaning and look of the kanji, which is pretty easy since they're more or less angular pictograms. Try drawing morphs of difficult kanji turning into picture of what they are, and it becomes pretty easy.
