You should try Skyrim, /jp/.
I've been playing it for two days, and in that time I didn't think much about how shitty my life is. There's lots of things to do, lots of things to kill, lots of events that can distract you from your misery quite effectively!

I will admit, that I have had fun with this game, but it's full of so much bullshit I don't know what. I don't get why they feel to take steps backwards every time they try to take a step forward.

You can't run/jump for shit, and you can't even jump while sprinting.
Unclimbable shit everywhere, you can't even pass a mountain range by climbing it, bullshit, honestly.

They -removed- fucking Unarmed, why?? Shit sucks, honestly. And gear still breaks, and they still want you to pointlessly brawl with random NPCs, so they still want you to fight hand-to-hand, but with no way, to influence it. No attributes, such as Strength or whatever, and no Hand-to-Hand skill.

Even worse though, they, -removed- spellmaking. Why in the world, did they remove spellmaing? Spells in general, while arguably useful, scale terribly in this game because after you have surpassed the premade spells, there is nothing. This is honestly terrible, spellcasting, as in the actual casting, is somewhat cool, but that's the only good thing about spells in the entire game. Enjoy casting the same couple of spells forever, until you reach one of 4 milestone and can upgrade to the same couple of spells slightly stronger.

You can dual wield practically everything, but unlike what they initially implied, you can't dual wield Shields.

"One-Handed" and "Two-Handed", what's with this being the only combat related skills aside from Archery? Seriously?

No hovering, no levitating, not even slow falling, telekenisis, and no teleporting. No mysticism.

I am honestly, disappointed. Also, while the favorite menu might be nice, I am also missing the ability to quick link items to hotkeys. The favorite thing is still more like an item menu with a filter in the end anyway.

This is all worse than I expected, and I didn't expect much. Honestly, what kind of shit is this? There isn't even anything to do in Chargen. Race+visual choices of various presets of visuals. Also, what's with all the mud/dirt/warpaint? Other than fat/size, you couldn't really alter anything.

You are, seriously, -the same- as any other bloke, for like, hours, upon hours, into the gameplay. Gear is almost the only thing that sets characters apart, and as it is, it takes lots of perks to create a noticable difference.

It's like Fallout 3, but without the attributes and skills. And the Elder Scrolls games without the freedom and lots of shit to potentially do.

It's also, sort of embarresing, how, the land of the Nords, Skyrim, doesn't have spear, and the notion of spears even existing isn't mentioned anywhere in the game. Despite of how spears is basically the biggest trademark of Vikings as far as combat related things go, and, how the previous Elder Scrolls games were full of them, and mentions Skyrim being full of legendary shit of that stuff.

Oblivion didn't have spears either. The official explanation was that they removed them because they sucked more than other weapons. They had no redeeming feature. Instead of making them more interesting, they decided to remove them, which is bullshit.

Anyway you don't HAVE to powergame to play on master. I am 49 atm and have survived many of the rough quests (like the end of the dark brotherhood, invading the stormcloaks, main story, and ancient dragons)
I only I have 4 pts in enchanting (to get the double enchant perk) and nothing in alchemy.
Combat mage specializing in Conjuration (bound weapons and summon familiar only, no atronachs/necro), and Illusion with most other magics being in the 3-4 perk range. I have a the same number of points spread in other things: pickpocket for weight increase, one hand and archery, block and light armor. I only had trouble in a handful of places, mostly the ruins and crypts.
My damage is low as fuck though, in order to kill ancient dragons quickly I need to cheese a bit. I have two saves: one with shadow warrior for the sneak attack cheese and one with some points in alchemy to make the +50% (x2 stacking) damage potions.
I use bound weapons and light dragon armor with some weak enchants.

I enjoyed it for 3 days from a redbox rental. I couldn't stand the critical game stopping bugs where some quests won't complete even if I completed the objective, like that part where you save a bunch of stormcloaks in a fort, and then they just stand there and not fucking attack the castle. And rolf is like, "Be careful, there may be more imperials out there." and won't fucking bulge. Fuck you Bethesda for releasing a buggy beta as a retail release. fuck you.

I felt that way with Oblivion's combat, but for some reason the combat feels much more engaging in Skyrim. I set it to Master just so I could savor every fight, while I had set it to the lowest difficulty in Oblivion just so I wouldn't have to be bothered with the tedious combat.

It depends on how the new Construction Set will look.
It is not really certain that it will be all uprades. With all of the things removed in the actual game, for all we know, the core of the engine might be alot more constrained, and Howard and the rest of the dev team seems to have been pretty dead set on removing these features due to some pretty redundant reasons, and this also, might be reflected in the capabilities of the construction set.

Take The Steed as your star sign whatsit. Pretty much a requirement in Morrowind.

When you get good at potions (one of the funnest parts of the game) you can just make potions to boost intelligence so you can make better potions to boost your intelligence even more and so on, then make a potion to boost your speed by a million points for 65535 hours.

Indeed, the experience is more similair to Fallout 3 than any of the TES games. Still though, please don't plainly say its like Fallout, because, if only it was...

Fallout 3 was a failure as a Fallout game. Luckily, Obsidian got to make Vegas, which was at least alot better albeit still different.

This however, while still more similair to Fallout 3 than any TES, the game still doesn't have the many skills or attributes as well as other character parameters of what is supposed to be a central point of the Fallout series. However, the game is still just as restrictive in its overworld freedom, or lack therof. I also, almost don't believe they removed spell crafting.

And no Todd, your computer RPGs aren't -roleplaying-.

Now my money is pretty much useless, maybe except for potions or other stuff. I shouldn't had used the fast travel, it really break the experience of the game.
I fast traveled everywhere, bought every iron ingot and ore with stripped leather to make iron dagger and now i feel empty because that's the only thing i did the last hours.
maybe i should do the main quest and reroll as a thief or a mage.
