Hardcover artbook is nice, lots of swimsuit pics etc. Pillowcase is very colorful (far better print job that agarest war pillow case). Haven't popped in the soundtrack yet.

Gameplay is... gradius. I struggled with the hitbox at first because the character is so oddly shaped on screen, but I found out that easymodo has a hitbox tutorial. After I got that figured out I got a lot more comfortable with near misses and more aggressive movements on bosses.

Why is Sal (registered) so god damn slow, or rather, why is Canada post so slow delivering sal packages. Shipped on the 4th, entered customs (in Vancouver) on the 9th, no updates since. When I started a catgirl theme collection 6 or so years ago, the amount of releases were much slower. Maybe one decent figure every 3-4 months.

The market is now saturated with far more figures released in general, and with that comes 3-4 figure per month of the things I specifically collect. Anime merchandise in general is on the rise almost exponentially (just look at the 15 billion in merchandise from K-on alone). Collectors have proven to be suckers for any tie-in product they can get their hands on, but it is reaching a point of saturation where people can't keep up.

We all have different breaking points, and while mine may be higher than a college poorfag, I am more or less reaching my upper limit of what I am comfortable spending of Chinese girl cartoons.

tl;dr

I'll try to cut back on the "being a buyfag is suffering" comments. I know everyone is suffering, especially with the painful exchange rate.

Dizzy will be my last figure ordered from the official store.
I will probably try to find Dark Saber meido by Alter and CC & Kallen in wedding dresses, but these figs are old.

So my total amount of figs will be 20. Every single one of them is very nice, most of them were pain in ass to find and buy for a decent price because they were sold out long ago. I wasted a lot and I got a lot of fun and I'm definitely proud of my collection. Not gonna stop following /fig/ threads, this hobby is nice and you should feel nice.

Another way to tell is if you check on ebay, and there are a bunch of fakes, buying it anywhere other than a completely trust worthy store may be risky. So check are there fakes of a figure before you buy from a not as trusted source. If there are fakes then reconsider buying it.

Preorders look to be sold out for fluffy tail caster (Suddenly everyone in /a/ ordered this figure all at once, she seems more popular here than in Japan) but that happened sometimes at amiami. They will probably restock after it is released.

Odd, I ordered Robocop Figma after it was released and they hold it because I had a pre-order for the same month for another figure and then shipped the moment that pre-order was released.

I would say HLJ is rather odd as shipping method is per account (so have to keep switching from EMS and SAL if you want to use SAL in some and EMS on others) and it seems they also have oddities when it come to shipping were they will hold orders to combine then unless you go to account and say you want then to be shipped when they arrive.

Might be because of payment since they might been burned with PayPal(ers) ordering a ton of stuff and then sit on it, no idea what option you are using.

New to figure collecting here, anyways I bought that ~50% off made mikoto that someone here posted about and got it today. Live in my parents basement, neet but not planning on staying neet forever. Not quite hiki since I do go outside but only really to get mail and to head to the post office to pick up packages. Anyways I didn't expect it to come today and I didn't realize that someone was home so when I went to pick up a package at the post office (prostate simulator), the mail deliverer came by with the package. Anyways my father googled the item declaration and found out what it was. Turns out he is pretty chill with it and is interested in figures and not disappointed at me at all (well maybe they are disappointed due to the fact I don't have a job or any university education), just don't think I should show him my dakimakuras yet. I thought this might have been the last straw before they kick me out but perhaps this will allow me to stay neet for more time.

I wonder if he is just a normalfag or if he is just hiding is power level, I think the prior, I don't think there are many 58 year old married men into anime and such.

As of now, no site is cheaper than amiami in term of merchandise price. The only problem with amiami is they have way too few box sizes (3-5 IIRC), so the weight is usually a tad heavier than what other site would pack your purchases with (leading to more expensive shipping cost).

Amiami has a wider preorder window (sometimes right up to the day before the product goes on sale) because they deal in much larger quantities. For those who don't preorder, you can usually get away with just buying it the day it comes out because they often have surplus.

Some products show up as initially out of stock, but they will restock with a second shipment at some point in the first week (or orders are cancelled and more product is released for sale). Best of all, amiami low price doesn't require you to prorder like some other vendors. So unless it is a really hot item that is expected to sell out the first day you rarely ever need to preorder with amiami.

The downside is shipping and their limited box selection. Now and then they declare something too big for SAL (because they put it in a giant box that is 80% packing material) and you get murdered on EMS. I thought I would save money by ordering 2 figures at once, but oh god you should have seen the packing job they did... The box made a really nice cardboard fort for the cats, though.

For this reason I gave up on combined shipping and just let each order process individually with SAL to avoid getting the dreaded Amiami shipping crate. It also seemed the bigger the box, the more likely customs was going to look at it, and these delays make it no quicker than SAL.

Overall amiami gets 80% of my business.

Not the guy you responded to, but I've done something similar in the past, and they allowed me to do it. Just making sure since it's 2 AM here and lolcomprehension, you're trying to combine an order in which you've received payment request with a new order of in-stock items, right? If you do, they'll totally combine it if you state in the order note; hell, it's even in their faqs.

What happens is that after getting your payment request, you have a week to pay, in which in that period you can modify (I think you're limited to adding to, though) your order. I'm not sure, but I think you receive a new payment request for the new order and a new order deadline. If that's the case, it's totally plausible to keep recombining order and keep it open for, say, a year, if you do it right (or if they don't blacklist you first). Anyone wanna take a shot at that?

I know I can modify the order before the deadline, as I've been changing shipping method before paying, but their faq is somewhat ambiguous about my particulaar question.
It states you can't put preorder and in stock items in the same order. So this basically boils down to whether preordered items in you order are still considered as preordered once they come in stock. I realize that doesn't make much sense, but it's plausible that they process preorders in a different pipeline than in stock items, so combining them would complicate their packing/handling procedure.

Anyways, I just asked here to see if someone has tried that already. I'll just mail them and see what they have to say.

Which is what I said. Pre-ordered items are considered as in-stock items when they are released, so you can recombine your order with other in-stock items however much you please. I did it before (waited until my item is released, got payment request, then ordered some in-stock items and ask them to be shipped together) and it worked just fine. No reason it wouldn't work for you too.

So how does /fig/ feel about Griffon? The only figure I have from them is derpface Remi which I got recently, and to be frank, it's now my favorite figure, and it made me consider getting more of their stuffs. I don't really get the hate for them, unless this one I have is a particular exception to their supposed shittiness?

Disregarding the pose and base, the hair and expressions are better than her first, but that's hoping that this image actually represents the product they will ship. The main difference is the hair color actually, in this image it is deliciously bright while my first Flandre hair color is pretty bleak.

Oh well, I'm getting the new Alice now anyway, I don't need another Flan now. Maybe if some other company tried a shot at her.

Nothing new in a while... My fox caster was delayed till December, as was my other foxgirl I ordered (cast-off Mashiro from Tayutama,).

In my backlog of missed figures a few finally arrived. Both are cheaper banpresto and sega prize figures. They were like 1000 yen each so my expectations were low to begin with.

Ferris-Nyan is adorable. banpresto's lower end figures aren't too bad...

Shōko is especially cheap and overly shiny, like most sega figures, but I like S&M bunnies.
