how do you name your images, /jp/?

>> No.8100561

I don't, that'd take way too much time.

>> No.8100569

Whatever string of numbers they come with.

>> No.8100571

What do the gelbooru scripts name them after? Hash?

There's no point. I don't even organize them, because I have too many and it would take hours. I'm not spending a couple of days just to organize and name pictures.

I did it once

I do not regret it

>> No.8100619

Some people use a program to mass rename files I believe. I did once, but I never bothered to use it again. I should though.

>> No.8100618

>>8100585
Why?
>>8100600
Organizing is a good time killer if your internet's gone out. I get all nostalgic.

>> No.8100624

I don't change my filenames. Edits get tagged as the original filename plus some note that it's been edited.

>> No.8100629

>>8100618

I do it occasionally, but only for a few minutes. My internet doesn't usually go out, and if it does I just do something else. It is nice to look through those images though.

>> No.8100643

If I downloaded it from one of the boorus, it's by their tags. If I downloaded it from Pivix, it is Character_Name(Full)1. /jp/ images keep their original file name.

>> No.8100644

>>8100619
You can just highlight everything and rename it to a name, but that doesn't help much.

>>8100618
I have some 12,000 images to sort through, I just click random and tag it for an hor or so every so often, really is fun to look at them and remember how or why I saved it. Gelbooru's batch upload script is kind of limited and as such rather annoying, so I've yet to actually upload everything of mine. This is going to take, forever.

I name them however I feel like naming them.

99% of the images I save are from either Pixiv or an imageboard. I just save them with the numeric filenames. That way, when I'm posting stuff, I can quickly and easily tell what will definitely be a repost and what will only probably be a repost.

Silly file names aren't worth it, just name pictures with accurate titles so you don't get confused.

For example...

I just name it whatever I can remember it by. Unless it's a picture of a character I have a specific folder for. Then I just keep the pixiv/booru filename.
