Benadryl has a pretty steep tolerance curve. For a few days, three or four can put me to sleep, but after that, I need to take more and more to get what less pills did for me.

Right now I'm up to six pills a night and they're getting noticeably weaker every night. When it becomes troublesome to take so many pills, I'll drink myself to sleep for a week or so until the tolerance dies down, and then it starts all over.

I try to drink myself to sleep sometimes, but most of the time if I drink too much it just keeps me awake even though I'm tired because my heart is still racing. I try to drink less but it never really seemed to matter.

Maybe I'll try going to sleep normally. It's gotten cold enough for the space heater here. I leave it on and the orange light that it casts on my walls is incredibly comforting.
