Why would you even want to go to Gensokyo? Are you going to unite with your waifu? Will you go adventuring in Gensokyo?

Here is what will happen if you actually go to Gensokyo, descending order of likelihood:

- You will be eaten by youkai before you meet a single heroine
- You will die of starvation before you meet a single heroine
- Mokou will find you wandering around in Bamboo Forest but she'll be particularly tsundere to you because you're a dirty gaijin.
- You will settle in the human village and live out a boring life. You might meet Alice or Marisa in passing, but they won't care about you because you're neither strong nor interesting.

You might safely make a pilgrimage to Hakurei Shrine, but the miko won't come out because you don't have any donation money. You can't even challenge anybody to a duel because you don't have spellcards, not to mention that your NEET asses aren't fit enough to dodge danmaku.

Also you discover that every 2hu is now literally 3DPD. They're all bitchy like real women, have periods, and practice Medieval hygiene. Both Reimu and Sanae are yen-whores who are actually prudish, not lewd.

Youkai mountain is actually a huge mound of bloody rags.

So please keep your portals to yourself. Portalfaggots are actually in denial about the concept of rejecting 3DPD -- they would prefer to wed a real, tangible waifu because they would want to make their 2D waifu a 3D one.

The reason I left /tg/ is because of 1: the horrific influx of dragon porn that hit the board. 2: The immediate iron fist of bannings that followed, and the automatic bannings of anything that specifically was not Warhammer 40k or the front page cover of D&D3.5 or 4e for a week straight. 3: Whatever mod that handed out ban warnings asking for source on some (I think) a fallout/mad max table top RPG in the ban message. High Fantasy is very much analogous to being the Western version of what's considered on /tg/ as weeaboo shit.

I mean... you've lots of cheesy/awful/poorly researched canonical writings that are still highly respected anyway. Lots of theoretical / vs discussion everywhere; plus writing for say, D&D campaigns is basically the same fucking thing as writing doujin / CYOA stories in some senses.

Also westaboos on /tg/, if you were unfortunate enough to get into an argument with them, would quickly jump to asserting either directly or indirectly, that Eastern stuff is all the same cliched rehashed unimaginative crap... and then they go back to happily slopping up all the Tolkien-inspired stuff that has been copypasta'd -thousands- of times over. Are those people even aware that Tolkien fucking invented orcs, and hence everything else with orcs in them (basically all modern high fantasy) is extremely unoriginal? That elves were always supposed to be the little fucking midget/fairy things until they got romanticized in the 19th century (and again by Tolkien), basically making the modern versions literally mary sue sexy fanfic versions of the originals? Western lore is so fucking bastardized, cannibalized and unimaginative (in that everyone lifts the same ideas, races and settings) that really, no one stands on any solid grounds to criticize either major camp.
