Psychiatrists have tried this with anxiety disorders / phobias since the dawn of psychiatry. It has an incredibly high failure rate and an even higher rate of the patient just flat out not going because it's hellish, plus cases of it just making the problem even worse.

It'll work for some people, not for most. Last I read it was a pretty much dead practice.

I can see why everyone on /jp/ has social anxiety.

We have nothing in common with normal people. We watch Madoka. They watch the latest Football game. We read visual novels. They read the newspaper. We listen to j-pop. They listen to country and rap.

If you know for a fact that you have absolutely nothing of interest with the other person it's only natural to become fearful of them. What if they were to ask you what your hobbies were? What if they asked what you do for a living?

The only way to truly get rid of this anxiety is to become a normalfag yourself. Watch football, watch michael bay movies, listen to what you see on Top 40 charts and TV.

Personally I would rather kill myself.

I don't know where you got your information but you're wrong. The single best way to combat anxiety disorders is to slowly introduce yourself to what causes you anxiety. For example: a man afraid of elevators will continue to fear them, until he can himself get on an elevator and introspectively realize there is no rational reason to fear. It's a simple process of conditioning the mind to see the absolute reality or truth behind an object of anxiety. This is the very exact meaning of anxiety itself, and pretty much the only "legit" way of ridding of it. Medications are just band-aid methods.
