>The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement brings America's pro-corporation copyright laws to Japan, may destroy dojinshi.

Picture unrelated.

I think angry people turning up at trade conventions sounds more likely.

>According to Fukui, if Japan joins the TPP, copyright violations will no longer be offenses which require a formal complaint from the injured party for prosecution. Under the current Copyright Law, the police and prosecutors cannot act against copyright infringement unless the copyright holders themselves file a complaint. The proposed changes under TPP would also allow statutory damages to be levied against defendants.
In other words, if a company doesn't care people are making porn manga about their characters, police and prosecutors will be able to sue the creators without being asked by the copyright holders. At that point, the company will have to either officially endorse porn made of their characters, or keep quiet and let the police and prosecutors rape the doujin creators. Since this is Japan, which do you think is more likely to happen?

Given that ZUN has already done just what you described, what is going to happen is Touhou taking over the entire doujin community.

I, for one, do not mind. Hundreds of generic porn doujinshi of the latest anime-of-the-season, who the fuck cares.

Not just that idiot. ACTA can shut your ISP down if you were even suspected, without being proven in court, or downloading copyrighted material.

>> No.8081778

People will just all do what a few doujin makers do, and just change names slightly to avoid infringement.

But those doujins are what make the shows worthwhile a lot of the time...
I don't think I can count how many times I think "this show sucks......but the doujins would be fantastic."

They don't have to be as openly lewd as "officially endorses porn. They can just say, "derivative works are acceptable." To my knowledge, ZUN has not "official endorsed porn" of the Touhou series.
