As if the whole toyota miku incident wasn't enough, I saw an ad by toyota talking about their "EPIC RELIABILITY". I know which brand I'm never going to buy from again, next time I'm going with Honda. Anyways, are they trying to appeal to /b/tards or something? Or perhaps those reddit kiddies? Dunno but their marketing is shitty as hell.

Discussed ages ago, but I never really payed those threads any mind.

Did these even air on TV? Never noticed them in NY.

can't wait for honda to start using touhous as mascots

Marketing to people who use 4chan or generally go on the internet is a terrible idea. Most of us are bitter and cynical and creating an advertising campaign that panders to us is more likely to be met with our hatred and scorn than increase in sales.

Unless they are trying to appeal to the normalfag market who thinks the "internet is cool" or some shit.

OP here, yeah im sure quite a lot of us (apparently none of the newer people here though) know about this but only recently have they started advertising about being "EPIC". Only reason I know is because I kept seeing the ad on the TV at my workplace's break room. Otherwise I would never even watch TV. I dont know if the miku ads aired anywhere other than youtube though....

The internet normalfags you speak of far outnumber us

It's all mainstream now

That's why you never appeal to weeaboos on any serious project. They'll ruin it with their shitty Japan nationalism. Anything not 'truly Japanese' they won't accept.

the toyota miku thing was fine, stop being such bitches

unless they're korean, they they love halfassed knockoffs of japanese shit.

> halfassed knockoffs
This is exactly what I mean. This is the official Miku localization, not some similar looking tv ad girl.

The thing is, Miku is shit anyway but they won't accept it and blame it all on these ads.

But isn't Toyota a Japanese automotive manufacturer? What's the big deal of this then? That they advertised a Japanese Vocaloid in the US, as they did in their own country, and probably more, because they are Japanese, and port some of their cars to the US?

That's like getting mad at an AE86 for being in Initial D.

You ain't seen nothing yet. Just wait until GM launches their Microsoft Sam campaign.
