The picture here is a tektek of Aurora. I had other characters, but this was the only one on the photobucket and tektek reset all of the stored ones so bleh.

inb4 tl;dr
I'll be keeping it short anyways since no one cares.

Setting: A bit like Inuyasha (Fuedal Japan with demons and shit. )

Esteroth/Plot Concept: Used to be the main 'protagonist' though I haven't given a shit about him for ages. Lone wolf personality, from a wolf-demon tribe (I was 9 years old, forgive me.) Mid-long blue hair, ability to produce five elements and control those produced. Hell, I pretty much forget what the five were but they were something like: Earth, Air, Water, Fire, Ice. Anyways, commanded by two gods to collect pieces of an evil god and blah blah blah. These pieces are 'wolfbane spirits' and are a singular element (Not limited to the five elements he has.) Much like ghosts, they possess bodies, grow in strength, then turn into rampaging (elemential) beasts. He kills the host, collects the spirits, sends them to the gods. Rinse, repeat.

Ziogen/World Origin: The main 'antagonist' though I still haven't come up with a reason for him to oppose Esteroth besides 'oh lol I'm bored' even though it's been years. Cocky arrogant bastard that's only slightly worse than Gilgamesh. Dark green, medium messy hair. Wears loose clothes, would prefer to not have any and be in bed with a woman. Full title "Dragon God Ziogen" and is one of the creators of the world. The law of the universe is basically 'anything is possible if there is a cause' and the start of the 'universe' [there's only one world] was that the cause was luck. The result was an immense flash of light from which 'gods' originated, Ziogen one of them. More detail if asked, it would get into plot. In any case the gods were as powerful as they could be without dispersing, they united and created the world. So therefore no single entity can exist that can destroy the world, yeah? His powers are mostly underdeveloped, though two are incredible [controllable] mass and the ability to create a black force from it; end result even cutting his skin would be like slicing through a mountain. A mountain is a great understatement. And the second solid ability is to make himself weaker. Hur hur.

Aurora Light: Your generic battle-angel from a generic angel-y society who's job is to protect the weak humans from the powerful demons that run amok. Long blond hair, golden eyes, you know the drill. Direct in line to rule the angel society (which still doesn't have a name after years.) Dresses heavily, no strippers here. Gray Pants, white boots, white cuirass armor, white gloves. Ability is your generic holy blasts and shit, as well as eight tendril-like wings of light. [Think Tyreal from Diablo two.] These wings are hard to destroy, can overlap with each other to constrain and squish enemies, and are able to 'burn' the subject in question upon touch. [Fire resistance negated.]

Larka Snow: Aurora Light's sister. The main Angel society's family line is cursed so that if the leader has a second son/daughter than that one is cursed to be an abomination and the mother dies. Vampire, outcast from angel society and hunted as one of the endagerments to humanity. Wears red robs, mid-riff long white messy hair, pink eyes. I'm sure you've heard the concept of an 'original vampire' (True Ancestors for the Nasufags out there) that are the cause of generic vampires. There you go. Sunlight is just an annoyance, blah blah balh. In any case, she's not a vampirey vampire. Very technological oriented and spends most of her time doing research. Forgets a lot of things, including people. Her main power is the ability to control her blood and crystalize it, allowing for many hax things like shooting out a near-invisble thread of nanometer crystalized blood through an opponent so they won't notice it and can't move, then expanding that thread inside their body and fucking them up royally. She can convert others blood to her own by simple contact, which can kill in and off itself, which often makes a single wound deadly because the blood acts like poision and LONG SENTENCE.

Cerose Aldalta: Probably the most fleshed out of all the characters, I've pretty much got her life set from birth to death, hell, and revival [although the revival part is more of a 'happy ending' and eterernal suffering in hell is just as 'canon.'] As such, two parts.

Anyways, she's a human. Short, messy and ruffled blood red hair, white eyes. Tall (for a girl,) muscularly lithe. No special abilities of her own, although her body has been trained and tempered in an unnatural way. Her muscles condense, break, reform, condense, repeat, resulting in a dense body [much like Ziogen, whom she is paired with in an unwilling relationship on her part.] No predetermined weight, but somewhere around 1,000 pounds might be the case. Of course, she knows how to control it and can stand on a tree branch without breaking it. In any case, she lived on a farm with her single mother. Mother got possesed by Wolfbane's spirit, Esteroth eventually came and killed the mother. Cerose, at age five, still recognized the beast as her mother in its dying moments, which surprised Esteroth and gave the Wolfbane spirit the chance to jump into Cerose. Esteroth didn't feel like killing a child, so he left her alone and kept careful watch to kill her when the beast arose. [The spirit is one reason why she could go the muscle training.]

In any case, she keeps the spirit [element: fire] down with mental domination, is taken to an assassination group, and raised to be one. Does a good job, although not your generic sneaky assassin. Wants revenge to kill Esteroth, she eventually does, [and the gods that support him revive him in a year or two,] and since that goal is done she's lost. Orginzation decides to kill her, sends her trainer and the one she loves [the feeling is semi-mutual although they've never consumated,] a bit of the Wolfbane spirit spikes out and she kills them all [except for her trainer, who escapes as he recognizes what's going on.] The trainer [Remiel] locks her memories and the beast inside, and tosses her in a river. He wasn't too fond of killing her, so he left her life to the fates. Drowning, or whatever. Anyways she washes up in a city, no memories. Learns to be a theif, gets a normal relationship with another theifman. Ziogen, who has had an unhealthy interest in her [read: stalker] since she was spared by Esteroth, decided now was the time to rape her since she wasn't the woman he liked. Cerose returns to her theif-hubby, smacks his head off in an accident, and eventually has no where to turn to but Ziogen. And thus starts their relationship.

In any case, Ziogen breaks the seal on her memories, and blah blah blah. Years later, [I forgot to mention it earlier but yeah her life span is 20 years due to the muscle thing] she decides to look for Remiel, the one she still loves. Ziogen's like 'fine god' and off she goes. Blah blah blah, sad moment no one cares about, Remiel stabs her in panic, then they spend a sunrise together in a tree as she dies from muscle spasms.

All those affected by wolfbane spirits, and those killed by them, go to 'Wolfbane's hell.' It's hell, so no descriptions needed.

Human. Short, spikey darkgolden hair, blue eyes. Likes to wear scarves etc and dress funky. Your generic cold blooded killer, with little emotions and subject of human when it comes to normal subjects. His skills are basically ultimate precision, the ability to analyze and decide things in an instant for the best course. Also a mental mumbojumboist. Can 'feedback' a person's power to make them go boom, which makes him dangerous to pretty much everything. Not much history background done with him, he's pretty much a support character. After Cerose dies, he decides to become immortal in an undecided method [probably absorbing an immortal demon] and eventually gets together with Aurora Light.

Nothing much down about them, even appearances. They're very DARK, and thats about it. [black hair, bestial, etc.] First 'creations' with sentient thought. Anyways, what I have is too long so I'll just say that they're pretty much Wolfbane's bitches and serve to revive him.

I improved on some bullet code, but I think that I'll work on it later. I need to finally draw a real interface instead of leaving it as a white spot. I don't like drawing, I just want to keep programming. I'll just keep making placeholder graphics and using Touhou spritesheets until I finish the game. I'm lazy like that.

My list of things that need to get done is huge, I just need to keep working. I'm having fun.

Just a tips from one musician to another:
Try to make the song a bit more interesting for the listeners.
Re-arrange some parts, re-use others and make up some yourself.

When you arrange it 90% like the original, but with different instruments, it makes it sound a bit stale and not very fun listening to.

This is more of a series of tests that a real project. I'm doing this to learn, and I'm learning a lot. I originally tried to join some collaborative projects, but that never got far.

If I ever get it to a playable state, I'll release it on /jp/. It will probably be a while because I hardly ever know how I'm going to implement something new. I also really need to draw some graphics for the game. Applying animations won't be a problem, I already know how to do that. I just need to draw them.

I'm also thinking about giving C++ another shot, since I didn't like it last time. I'm a little better with programming now, so maybe it will help. I found that using low-level languages isn't very effective for me, since abstraction and OOP concepts are now far lodged into my mind.

Perhaps you would like to share some code or concepts? I would accept anything that could inspire me.

Finally made my Touhou Arkham Horror board.

The investigators are long done, same with ancient ones.
Allies, mythos cards, other items and special cards are finished.

Just need to finish encounter cards for about half the locations, then it is time to play Arkham Horror in Gensokyo... so it isn't really Arkham Horror at all.

Yeah, that's exactly it. I probably could have dealt with the exposed wires somehow, maybe cutting open the felt on the headband and restoring it after wrapping the wires, but I literally made it in an hour and a half midnight before the con so there wasn't unfortunately any time to put polish like that into it.
Heck, I even did the buttons while driving to the con... I'm surprised it turned out as well as it did, considering the time I had.

Oh, and the pre-made headband was originally felt reindeer antlers of some sort, so there was a bit of structure there already after a bit of trim that let me have an easier time fitting the ears to the right places and keeping them there as I secured with the floral wire.

To be honest, the rest of the cosplay wasn't that great, especially the skirt and the shirt. (Tie, tie clip, shoes, and the tail I made with wool thread were passable, I suppose.) And a lot of the pictures are a bit awkward, since I hadn't put any thought into posing beforehand and didn't have the reference sprites once at the con. But it was still tons of fun, I'm thinking of doing Tenshi by next January. Not sure how to make the Sword interesting though.

Yeah, that's another thing I was dissatisfied with. Didn't make any attempt to cover it with the wig, since the wig was fitting poorly enough already (had to use a stock blonde wig and ink it lavender, since I didn't have the time to order a real one). Was also considering putting the wires through the wig but that wouldn't work with the headband I used, and the previous one snapped in half when I tried.

Actually, now that I think about it... does anyone have any ideas for making a Sword of Scarlet Perceptions in a way that communicates some of the properties of the actual Sword? Like how it deforms and flares out when you swing it.

Her left shoulder is too far away from the body. If the arm is behind the body, the forearm can't suddenly appear in front of it. Her right hip seems bigger than her left, even though her body's twisted the complete opposite way. Her neck looks disproportionately small compared to her head, and the head's tilt doesn't seem to affect the neck in any way.

I have the bad habit of releasing pictures I've drawn in the middle of the night before sleeping. I can't recommend it to anyone.

Usually it's relatively small changes, like arm/leg position or something that can be fixed halfway with photoshop. A couple of times I've redrawn something completely some time later, when I'm more confident that I can do it better.

Well, there are special pens that record your movements and inputs it into the computer, but they seem to be shit. I've never heard of only using the stylus itself and discarding the pad. The tablet and the pen are intimately connected, on a functional, engineering level.

Work on your vibrato. A little bit of well executed vibrato can really help to bring your music to life. Just look up some tutorial videos, the ones from Justin Guitar helped me quite a bit.

Hey, this is really nice! The melody has a very melancholic feel to it, it wouldn't be out of place in a videogame or something.

Like the other anon said, when you're playing instrumental music like that it's really important to make the guitar as expressive as possible, so using vibrato and perhaps avoiding picking every note would make the song come to life a bit more. If possible, you should look into voicing some of those lower notes as chords rather than single notes too.
